RagunCajun
What exhaust springs are people using for big bore in frame shearers? The newer is OEM and im not sure which kind my old ones but it seems the top one needs to be longer. http://s240.photobucket.com/user/raguncajun/media/DSC02091_zpsmqoefl4w.jpg.html I also need to order some orings for the flange. I ripped two so far. I have my last one stretching over night so it fits.
bluebanshee98
To stretch out springs use stock pegs hole. Put stock pegs on bike. Insert one hoop and then you use spring puller tool and slowly stretch it out. Don't go too far when stretching. You want it long enough so that you still need to put some effort to pull the spring on to the pipe

RagunCajun
Will do. Thanks. I have to order some orings tomorrow for the exhaust flange. I ripped two orings trying to put the pipes on. I got one in and the last oring i have is stretching a little over night. I want spares. Starting to look like a banshee somewhat: Thanks again for the people who noticed i originally got the wrong shocks. I'm going to have to get some exhaust wrap for the stingers. They will for sure melt the air filters. I really wish Shearers fit better. It may take some massaging so they expassion part does hit the frame at the bottom. LaegerEliminator
Are you using grease on the o-rings and on the your pipes where they slide over the exhaust spigots during installation?
bluebanshee98
Use cascade heat wraps. They look good ( for wraps that is) and do a good job
RagunCajun
I'm not going back through the thread, what color is that frame? Oil rubbed bronze. You're welcome on the shocks... Shoulda got Snipers for your SS!! I talked to redline about this last week while ordering stuff. I'm sticking with my shearers. I also didnt know they made big bore inframe snipers 2-3 years ago went i had this engine built/dynoed. I may engine up getting a set late this year or next and sell whatever pipes i dont like. There's a small market for BB inframes though. Id lose a good bit of money. Are you using grease on the o-rings and on the your pipes where they slide over the exhaust spigots during installation? I ordered some different(read as "the correct") orings and the pipes went right on. Evidently i picked up the wrong ones a long time ago. Use cascade heat wraps. They look good ( for wraps that is) and do a good job I went with exhaust wrap. Turned out decent enough considering it wont be scene. Here's how it ended today. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff111/raguncajun/DSC02098_zpsiqsppskk.jpg http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff111/raguncajun/DSC02099_zpsv7anlshn.jpg http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff111/raguncajun/DSC02100_zpsgrokwu78.jpg I cant believe i dont have the nut that holds the front sprocket on. No telling where that thing went to. So ill be ordering that this weekend. That's why the stator/flywheel cover is off. I'm still waiting on a front replacement rotor i messed up as well. I have to take off the clutch side cover and adjust the pancake bearing. There's too much tension on the clutch when it's hooked up to the lever on the handle bars. If i remember right, you can back the nut off and turn the screw in the center to let some slack out. It's a cascade pancake bearing or whatever it's called. Once that's done i have to install and hook up the junk looking piece of shit stock thumb throttle i have. I will use the stock one until i can find a Honda thumb throttle off a 250r then get the logo milled off then powder coat everything. I read that's the best. I'm not spending a fortune on the Cuervo racing one. Then ill fire it up hopefully tomorrow around lunch time. I've never heard big bores in person so im looking forward to that most. Scrubby
Next time you put the heat wrap on, soak it first, and pull it tight, it will mold to the pipe better, holds the tag end better too.
RagunCajun
I will redo the wrap. I don't like how uneven it is. I want to install my Cascade innovations exhaust clamps too. Thank you. The powder coat color is oil rubbed bronze. And quoting an entire big post like that makes it harder for mobile users. Same reason I don't use image takes usually when posting picture. I also will install my Cascade seat cover tomorrow too. I also forgot to mention the next thing to order brembo rear caliper.
bigweav81
I was just curious. I had mine sprayed with an oil rubbed bronze we use on our tank batteries. Nice build by the way. sent from yo mammy house.
RagunCajun
Does my color look the same? I assume the color will vary from coater to coater. My guy said this is the first thing he sprayed this color besides patio furniture.
bigweav81
Mine isn't powder. More of a dark charcoal grey with metallic, and doesn't look near as good as yours. I'm going to powder coat a newer frame when I get one. That or cut the subframe off, and buy a removable. The color you have is what I want. Look good with my gold wheels lol. sent from yo mammy house.
