Fernando Loya
Ok so im looking into rebuilding my 2003 banshee. Everything is stock except for pipes throttle cable and clutch cable. I want a fast bike that i can still take out on trails. Can anyone think on a kit or put one together that would be best for me
oh3shee
The only place I have to ride are trails, mostly tight ones at that. I added +2 A-arms and it made a big difference in cornering. Im not on the brakes as much cause I know I can take a turn faster now.
Pasi S.
Fast?....how fast ? ...you can also put it in USD´s if you like. 2000$ fast is faster than 1000$ fast.
locogato11283
Budget?
tfaith08
Decent arms, works shocks (or better if you can afford it), revalved rear shock, good tires. What pipes do you have? +2 on budget.

RagunCajun
Shearers for a trail engine? No.
pattheriault
Open trail yes. Tight trail maybe not
tfaith08
Dirt roads, maybe. Open trail maybe not. Tight trails absolutely not. Fixed.
Fernando Loya
Sorry it took me a while to get on my phone was being stupid. So far i got some elka stage4 for my front suspension i got a really good deal from a local person. My budget for now is $800. But i want to rebuild the engine before i do anything else. With that said should i go bigger in my pistons or stay the same? My engine is all stock but will take it apart before odering anything
Bennett131
Do not get bigger pistons unless you absolutely need a bore.
tfaith08
Leak test, compression check, then tear the head off to check the bore. No need to tear everything down if it doesn't need it. +1 on not boring for performance.
Fernando Loya
Ok so i got some idea of what to do now. Im going to do just the top end. I got 75 compression and 60 on the right cylinder. But the bike does not feel that bad. It does take a while to build power but it gets there. Now for the elkas i will see them this weekend and they are currently on a warrior will they work good on the banshee and what type of a arms will i need to run? If i do not need a bore would i just need to get it honed and buy same piston size right?
sprinklerman
If i do not need a bore would i just need to get it honed and buy same piston size right?Send to reputable builder, let them decide what bore size/piston size is needed. You cant measure a bore without proper tools. A reputable builder will have proper tools.
