slobanshee
Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with a rear float on a bike with a +10 or longer arm? Been running them on the front and love em vs shaws. Just didn't know if you could get the float psi high enough on an arm that long. Thanks! locogato11283
I run Floats on all our bikes and I doubt one would work properly for the rear. I would be very hesitant to trust a single holding that much weight. I run Fox Podium for the rears on ours and they work excellent.
slobanshee
Any links to the one ur using? I assume a linked arm?
locogato11283
I don't think Fox offers the piggyback shock anymore but they do offer the remote reservoir. http://www.ebay.com/itm/FOX-REAR-SHOCK-2-0-PODIUM-RC2-KASHIMA-YAMAHA-BANSHEE-ALL-SWINGARMS-/331068496541?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d15385a9d&vxp=mtr
slobanshee
You used one for stock length on your longer swingers? Just up the psi or change springs
locogato11283
You used one for stock length on your longer swingers? Just up the psi or change springs It's set up for a +8 swingarm and 180 pound rider, but I cranked up the compression some and it worked fine on my +14 at LSOK. Here's the problem... Fox does not set up shocks for extended swingarms. Mike at ATV Galaxy had mine set up per whatever spec he had and it works great. The people at Fox are dumb as fuck. slobanshee
Does he still do em? The few calls I've had with the fox people has been pretty useles.
locogato11283
I think so. Call Mike at ATV Galaxy and tell him you got the info from me. I see no reason why he couldn't have one set up for you.
trickedcarbine
FFS.Yeah.... But I get where he's coming from. Can they design a hell of a shock. Hell yeah. But when it comes to having it set up to your bike, weight, ride style, etc.... I doubt they are taking banshees out every weekend to the dunes, motocross track, and trails to learn exactly what the shock needs before it's sent to your door. locogato11283
The "tech" in their ATV department was in total amazement when I explained to him what an extended swingarm was and the reasoning for it. Total fucking dumbass.
Sandking
Just go with Elka or Axis. Works as a third choice.
