New banshee owner transmission question

Hey everyone just bought a modded banshee last night. A buddy of mine has a 4 mill I rode a few times and really liked it so I started lookin for one of my own. I picked up this one. It has a 4 mill engine with all the regular upgrades. I have dyno sheets that show 85 hp and 43 ft lbs. my question is the tranny. I was told it has an override 2-4 tranny. I did a little research on them and saw that there were a few different kind. I was told I couldn't downshift, I said "without the clutch" and ne said no not at all it will destroy the tranny. Is that right? The guy I bought it from said he never actually rode it. He got it, upgraded the suspension, now is going through a divorce and now has to sell it. Heck he may even be a member her not sure. Was a good dude, that just seems kinda odd that you couldn't downshift at all while it was moving. But I don't know crap about these maybe that is normal.

Your local? These guys are correct upshift no clutch and on the gas. Down shift with clutch not under a load. You cant coast with this trans. It it meant to be ridden under full load or clutch pulled in for drag racing. If you want to dune get a pro mod. Adrenaline can do the work for you. they probably know what trans it has.

Is it a straight override or a dunable override? I would think a plain ol override would suck in that bike. The way it's setup I mean. Looks like a dune bike not a straight drag bike. Don't usually put an override in anything but a dedicated drag bike. Just for the the reasons given.
