Tommygunn Posted October 20, 2014 Report Posted October 20, 2014 So I put some Shear SB In frames on my banshee and I'm wondering if i should I change the jetting for these pipes? The bike had FMF pipes on it before. Engine is stock bore, ported, 19cc domes, cool head, 36mm carbs. Was pouring gas out of the overflows so I adjusted the floats and seem to have fixed that problem before riding it first time after powder coating the frame. Going down the road, the bike seems to have a hesitation before reaching the power band. I'm not sure if its just how the pipes are or if I have a jetting issue. Thanks Quote
sleeper06 Posted October 20, 2014 Report Posted October 20, 2014 What kind of carbs are they what needle what position, what main jet is in it already????????? Quote
Tommygunn Posted October 20, 2014 Author Report Posted October 20, 2014 They are Keihin PJs, Not sure on jet size, I'll have to check tonight. Everything seemed right before I swapped out the pipes, but I'm not sure if I should go up in jet size, Float isn't adjusted right, or its just the way drag pipes are. I'll check jet size after work and try to get a 1st-6th gear video to help show what im talking about. Quote
sleeper06 Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 The last bike I tuned with pj's and shearers ported bike (drag) dialed in at 165 main 50 pilot cel needle 4th clip, depending on portwork should be somewhere around there Quote
Tommygunn Posted October 21, 2014 Author Report Posted October 21, 2014 Thanks! Bike is drag ported, I'll start from there. Quote
Tommygunn Posted October 28, 2014 Author Report Posted October 28, 2014 Just got around to working on it last night. It has 180 mains. Does this sound in the ballpark or should I still try 165? Elevation is 500 ft Quote
sleeper06 Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 You need to plug chop it where's it's at too big a difference to just go by what I say , do some proper plug chops post pics Quote

Tommygunn Posted November 5, 2014 Author Report Posted November 5, 2014 I adjusted the floats and it seems to be running a little better. Did a plug chop afterwards. Here's a pic. Quote
sleeper06 Posted November 6, 2014 Report Posted November 6, 2014 What kind of plug is that? If done correctly that's pretty darn good, if your not looking for every pinch of power go up one size on the main if she pulls clean up top leave it , play with needles to fine tune mid range Quote
