87sheestillkickin
Ok im looking to build a new motor. Its just going to be a drag motor but itl mostly be used for dune drag. Not perfectly groomed track where the big motors shine. Ive been thinking about a 4dm or a 10 dm. But im open to your guys opinions. I jus dont think i would benefit from a 18dm really but mayb you guys can tell me otherwise lol

Deadbeat
maybe build the roller up, weigh it with rider..then figure out motor and tire combo from there
87sheestillkickin
True. But then what size swingarm do i go with? Lol i had a 14 over on my 10 cheetah and it would not stay down

locogato11283
To get the same wheelbase as a Banshee you need to add 2" to the swingarm.. For example, my Banshee hillclimb bike uses a +8 swingarm. To get the wheelbase the same on the Hybrid I went with a +10.
trickedcarbine
Really the "bigger" motors are almost more work in the dunes. I think you'd be surprised how well a 4 DM would be in the dunes. If you can foot it, that 10 would be a bad bitch to run with if you can get it hooked up. Plus with the 10, you could probably get away with using those pipes that came with it.
87sheestillkickin
Yea and the 10mm isnt really that much more pricewise at all. Well thanks for the input guys.

87sheestillkickin
What about 10dm vs 10 cub
sprinklerman
What about 10dm vs 10 cubMight as well just go big if you're willing to go DM. Cranks are about the same money. Why stop at 10mm?
87sheestillkickin
I just dont think the bigger motors really shine unless ur running a big hill or a groomed track. And i dont run either. Just like little sahara style stuff
sprinklerman
Then why are you wanting a DM? Just do a 4mm cub.
locogato11283
I'd build a 4 or 10 Cub and be done with it.
