02Bansheeee
Will intake gaskets expand after heat cycles like other gaskets? A rebuild of mine keeps leaking around the intake gaskets, surfaces are smooth and clean, bolts are tight as well.
Bennett131
What gaskets are they?
02Bansheeee
Don't know the name but have a picture but they're rather thick. Bennett131
Try a set of v force gaskets, if those are the ones I think they are, they are less than ideal.
02Bansheeee
But do you think these will expand during heat cycles?
Bennett131
If they won't pass a leak down test now, I wouldn't even start the bike.
Surfrjag
This is why I use sealant on intake gaskets
dozer
i use sealant on intake gaskets too. very thin layer. like bennet131 said dont even start it until its sealed
sheesfast
I use sealant also. One less place to worry about when you do a leak down test. Nothing worse than having to take stuff back apart to fix leaks. Except maybe a seizure because you didn't do it right to start with. registered user
them ebay gaskets are probly junk. never tried the vf gaskets but they might be good. i know for certain the yamaha gaskets are good. sealer wont always fix the problem because some cheap ass gaskets will leak through the center because the material is shit
Bennett131
This^^^ I ordered those gaskets once, and I won't use them.

Starwriter
Be sure to only use the Vforce2 gaskets on the Vforce2 reeds between the reeds and the intake boots.
02Bansheeee
Thanks, I recon I'll order them Vito's. It ended up leaking 1.5 psi in 6 mins. With sealant around it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
