91coupemike
Just got my banshee running again last night and this afternoon I went to ride it and when you shift down into 1st the lever won't spring back up, it stays down, but it will pop up into second easily, but it makes finding nuetral difficult. It seems really sloppy, a lot of vertical movement. Has 2.2 qts of ATF f
trickedcarbine
The detent is not all loosey goosey? Eccentric is adjusted properly? The end of the shift shaft isn't all janky?
91coupemike
Just went and checked it out again, and the shift lever just drops down like nothing is holding it up inside. What do you mean by detent and eccentric?. When you shift up, the lever will still fall.

91coupemike
Yes, I've been doing searches on google and this site, I have an idea what it is, I'm at work and went to play on my lunch break. Seems like the shift lever rod it has a lot up and down and in and out play. I didn't mess with any of the shifting stuff other then taking the covers off. Larry's Shee
Have a clymer manual ? X-2 Tells all about adjusting that shit, WITH pictures. Far easier and better than someone trying to explain it, and forgetting something. Somethings fucky, worn, broken in there. 91coupemike
So if I have to pull the clutch basket, should I replace the clutch as well? Any other mods worth doing while there? Shift star?
Starwriter
There's lots of mods in there that are worth doing. Just a matter of how much money you are willing to spend. Billet clutch basket, pancake bearing, shift shaft mod, shift star mod, ball bearing detent roller (Commonly called Shift Pro. Do not use the Shift Pro spring. Mull sells just the bearing and bolt), steel kicker idler gear bushing, billet water pump gear, billet water pump impeller. Measure the thickness of your clutch fibers. If they are in spec, run them. trickedcarbine
Doesn't matter. Motor should've puked out whatever it doesn't need through the vent after it's first ride.
