turbowrenchhead
For those that are looking to ride in WI the east side of Lincoln county and the west side of Langlade county have by far been the best trails I've experience in WI and MI. We had a ground of 8 on this trip. I found this cabin on the internet for $150 a night. Its 3-4 miles from the dirt trails. The cabin is built on a peninsula of a crystal clear lake. The cabin was built in the early 1900's and has been well taken care of. It sleeps up to 10 people. There is heat, hot water, shower and a outhouse. Last Saturday we planned our route to go to a bar/restaurant in Harrison. This is also where the closest gas station is as well. After a couple minor crashes we made it there. We ate and filled up and head back. We did 78 miles on hard trails. There is lots of hilly terrain with several water damns to keep the trail from washing out. They are basically large jumps. Everyone had a blast this past weekend. So if your looking for some challenging trail riding this is the place to go. I've been to this area 4 times in the past 2 years and I plan on going back again.
Atomic Monkey
I had a great time, and the cabin was awesome! That was some of the best trail riding I've ever done!
mhoksch
Always a blast up there. Is the soil pretty high in iron like over by Hurley? Always hated trying to clean shit up after a weekend there...
turbowrenchhead
No iron content in the soil at all. Mostly hard top soil on the trails with a mix of grated gravel and sand in places.
trickedcarbine
Hmm. 8 folks splitting $150 a night is cheap. I'd love to ride that lake in the winter.
