I'll be there for show! I'm not real sure how many I will be bringing with me but at the very least I will throw the shee in the back of my toyota and go by myself if I have to. Looks like there will be quite a few people from around the country going as well, it will be worth it to see everyones faces light up as we tear into the first huge bowl....I cant wait! Just gotta hope the shee is trouble free for the rest of my Glamis trips this tear.

Benbb: you going or what, better take the days off now!

Why are you worried about a place to camp? I told ya there will be a BUNCH of us already getting together. If your that serious about joining us, then I will get you exact directions to where we will be and what vehicles to look for. I may even get another "roostfest" banner made up for this trip too.

LOL What I meant was, am I gonna get lost, as in are there 10 camp grounds, or 1? I usually don't end up lost though. Once I've been somewhere its easy for me to remember. BUT if you're gonna throw up signs, not a problem.

Walt, ill go right on up that big sonofabitch, i do it all the time, but Stans my friend and i think i need to stand by him in his time of need, so he and i will tour the kiddie dunes and drink beer and Q up some beef while you all go play, but when we all go hit the open desert, f*ck Stan he's on his own, thats my kinda riding and i know some sweet spots out there.........

LMMFAO!!! Yeah, bring some pom poms, and a big pink megaphone to cheer me on as I fly up that thing. Sadly, I have no front tires for open desert. I will have sand tires only for now.

I planned a Little Sahara trip in 2001, No one that I know of from the BHQ joined. All of my trips are planned at least a year in advance, and this has been going on since 1998.

Stan:

As the date gets closer everything comes together. For New Years this pat year I had a banner made and just may do it again this year. We will have a place to camp since I have a few Dumont veterans on my previous list that will give me dam good directions as to where we will be camped. Last I knew there was only one long dirt road in and from there I dont think you could get lost. (unless your as bad as my wife) Not to worry... since 90% of the guys I go with have HUGE F'n motorhomes/toy haulers I can give you descriptions and plate #'s. Who knows... we may be able to get honda helen hung up somewhere for you to find ;)

Yep theeechozen1, I'm gonna be there. I don't have B370's senior executive bankroll, heh, but I got $400-$500 set aside for the trip. Prescott and back cost about $150 in fuel, and that was in the Dodge 1-ton pulling a little enclosed trailer. This trip I'll probably just take the half ton with the Banshee in the bed, guess I'll just pass out every night, hope I don't freeze to death or wake up buried under a Z400

So I should bring my Holeshots too Blue Duece?

Oh yeah, is there anywhere close where I can buy a flag/whip?

Just a matter of working out the details, gotta find the shortest route but you got a place I can crash on the way and the way back theeechozen1? That would help, otherwise I can stay in Casa Grande again with another buddy. Still not real sure where the hell Dumont is at...need to look at some maps...I used to live in Parker, AZ and across the river in Parker Dam, but that was like 20 years ago...

No problem Ben, Feel free to crash at my place...I have a bunch of whips at my house so I can hook you up when you get here. If you bring a half ton we can caravan and I'll bring some 2-way radios so we can talk smack on the drive, Going 7 hours by myself might drive me insane, Or if you want to bring a trailer and ride together I can split gas money with you- whatever floats your boat or finds your lost remote ;) I'll start putting some cash up for the trip after x-mas, the beer alone always puts me in the poorhouse

The fastest way from my house is to go up through Vegas (bout 5 1/2 hours) then go SW 130 miles to Dumont, so 7 1/2 hours give or take. I've been to Vegas so many times that the drive should fly by!

Whats the elevation there?

Hell yeah, I'll see what I can do on the truck situation, got a few options there...if nothing else I'll take the Chevy x-cab and pull my little 5x8 trailer with my Banshee on it, then we can put yours in the bed. Then it's just a matter of cramming everything in the back 'o the cab and whatever space is left in the short bed (premix and beer will obviously be most important). You buy the beer and I'll cover the fuel mebbe? I'm bringin' a few pounds of hot-as-f*ck beef jerky...

Is anyone else coming with ya? If so, I might could try to get ahold of a 4-door Ford Powerchoke and either a 16' bumper-pull (hold probably 4 quads sideways) or a 24' gooseneck (6 quads easy). Fuel will cost more but if we got a few people to kick in it wouldn't be bad...

I'll see what I can do, It's a bitch getting my friends to commit on a trip 4 months down the road, I'll talk to em cause with at least 4 of us, the trip would be much cheaper. No problem on the beer, or gas, just bring an assload of that jerky! I can round up a box of steaks for the trip too. I'll talk to my best friend with a rap-turd, he'll prolly be down to go and give us someone to roost on  last time we got started we the roosting i had sand in my helmet all damn weekend <_<

Question about the desert running.

My banshee is pretty much going to be a trailer/sand queen when I get it done, and I really don't want to ride on rocky terrain. What is the desert floor like? If its like the salt flats, and its pretty much just dirt with a smattering of small pebbles thats coo, but I don't think I'm going to want to drag it out into gravel/out cropping type of terrain.

Dont get me wrong stan theres some rocks and shit but am i correct in assuming your banshee turns? awww shit guy im fuckin with you as allways, ive run 18's at 70mph+ across that section and not so much as a ding to my paint or skids, its that boring rock crawling, take a goat path up 2000 feet that fucks your bike up out here, you will see miles and miles of wide open flat, small hilled riding areas, little moto tracks just carved into the desert. access roads for state and goverment workers that you can fly down, we all now what the dunes are like.........the dunes themselves are like taking a big ass section of sand and planting it in the middle of a otherwise hard pack 0 moisture terrain i can post you a link of my neighbor steve hengeveld's web site( he's the #1 factory honda rider in the desert and baja) and you can view pics of all the different terrains we have out here, they are good pics so you can see what the dirt looks like, i think it shows him in the Vegas to reno and our local district 37 tracks, but the pebbled sometimes rock hard sometimes soft as a babies ass terrain is mostly the same throughout this part of the desert, but check out this kids race results he just took #1 in the pro baja 1000 his avarage speed across where we will be riding is 102mph at NIGHT, sorry for changing the subject but im very proud of this little prick, when i moved in he was twelve and would whoop my ass on his KX-80, me on my CR-250 on every track we could make or find out here, this kid is a serious asshauling dude....see ya at the dunes buddy.......
