banshee370
Hey guys, I don't think im going to make it. I have some sorta coolant leak. I thoguht it was a split ring in the head, but I was really careful when i put it on this time after replacing the bad o-ring. When I start the bike it starts spitting coolant out onto the pipe and shoots coolant out the pipes also. Im now guessing I need to replace a seal on my crank. (the seal was just replaced when I had my crank welded, But I guess it has already gone to shit. I think im going to need to split the cases again, so ill probably be out of luck untill next year or longer (since I lose my job when I graduate college)... Justin: It sounds like just an O-ring. Just because its spitting water from the pipes and head does not mean a bad crank seal. The crank seals are no where near the coolant anyways. If you need some o-rings let me know.. I have a few spare sets... Let me know which ones are bad and I will send some off to ya.

Walter, is there a list of contacts anywhere? I was just thinkin' it might be a good idea to have some phone numbers in a handy list I could print out just in case...ya know if my tranny drops out of the truck 10 miles from Vegas, who might I be able to call? I dunno if posting cell numbers in a public forum or on the rf page is a no-no, maybe on the email list? Just a thought, and I certainly wouldn't mind if anyone wanted to call me for help or planning how to get there...

Just a thought, and I certainly wouldn't mind if anyone wanted to call me for help or planning how to get there... BenBB: Thats a great idea.. Joining the email list would be a great way for everyone to stay in contact. (I do warn people that everyone currently part of the email list are close friends. Were all from different areas of the US, but stay in close contact via the list. From time to time its just useless banter between friends just as it is here. BUT when a trip is planned.. it's a great tool to stay connected.) A phone # list is a great idea that can be REAL handy in a pinch. It can be handled a few different ways.. I could create a hidden page on my site for ONLY those that are going w/ everyones names/phone #'s/Cell #'s/ addresses. It would also be a VERY good idea to have a contact name incase of an emergency (wife/parents/guardian/friend/relative). I can only hope that we NEVER EVER have to use it... but something that could be good to have. We should also plan a night or two for everyone to join chat to go over what ever anyone has questions on.... Anyone interested? If so please email me your contact info since my inbox here is normally full mp350@roostfest.com
BenBB
Good call on the emergency contacts, I sent ya an email with my info (and I'm subscribed to the list).
banshee370
Good call on the emergency contacts, I sent ya an email with my info (and I'm subscribed to the list). Just for anyone that is worried about this.... If you dont want your contact info given out then please let me know.. At least one person should have this info if your going alone. I wont be giving this info out to just anyone. It will only be used in an emergency (which I hope never happens) Since Dumont is near Death Valley, Im sure that cell service may be limited. One of my friends going normally has a satellite phone from work. (emergency use only) Boon: if you have been on the list, then Im sure your a lil confused... Most of the storys your hearing will all make sense once you meet these guys Drop a msg to the list so we know your there
spoin39
Well, unfortunately I got called back to work after being laid off since july. I should have some vacation days coming so I still might be able to go. Mrmatt has offered to ride with him and fixitrod said he might fly, so I still have options. I hope I can go cuz it will be a great time and I would hate to miss it!
Wallrat
I've got verizon and I had perfect service at Dumont - better than at home. It seems isolated but its not too far from the 15 fwy so cell phones might work.
Cc350
My plans have change, so now I will be leaving Ohio on Feb 28th and staying at dumont till March 8th. Business has opened a door for me so my trip is getting cut down. If someone is in need of a ride I will have room in my enclosed trailer for 1 quad. Only thing I'd ask is to chip in on travel costs. Trip is 100% a go, unless a big snow storm hits colorado! Anyone looking for a ride can post here or email me. The drive for me oneway is 2200 miles, so I would only consider someone that could hook up with me at my house or someone just off the highway. I'll be traveling 74 to indy then 70 west to 15 into baker cali. Don't want to go out of my way to many miles since the long trip pulling a trailer will be enough stress for me. PS (18 or older only!) Young hot females ok If I travel alone I will only ride out to dumont with a quad in back of my truck or pull a small open trailer. (Meaning no room for extra person) AT the last moment. I live just north of Cincinnati, Ohio in West Chester. My travel dates cannot be changed!!! Leaving Cincinnati,Ohio on the morning of Feb, 28th and plan on returning to Cincinnati by March 11th. If these dates are ok with someone lets talk. Otherwise Walt keep me a few cold beers ready cause after this long ass drive, i'll need them
boonman
Well, due to circumstances surrounding the present situation, Boonman will not be travelling on this trip. He will unfortunately be staying at home. Perhaps next year may be a go. But, this year, will not. I hope y'all have fun. Toss some sand around for me!!!!!!! And definitely drink yerselves sober in the evening hours!!!
