I dont want anyone to think the wrong thing here, but I will be driving out w/ a friend that has been going to Dumont for the last 20 years. Where ever he decides to camp is where I will be. We have a bunch of others (as on my list) that will be camped together. Everyone else is more than welcome to camp with us. We all watch out for each other, and are almost a family. Everyone gets along good and as long as no one gets out of control everything will be fine. I will try to find out where we will be camped and post here as soon as I do. I may have landing a driving buddy, but the other powers that be have to agree as well. We'll see what happens in the next few weeks. Anyone need head shavings or flywheel lightening? I just figured that if I took a picture of the area then posted it then it'd be easier for people to locate the camp. The parking/camping area is huge and I would imagine that your buddy would keep us at least close to the dunes. There's a road that goes inbetween the two major dunes that is constantly full of traffic so I would think that somewhere sorta-but-not-too-close to that? I missed Roostfest a couple years ago when it was close (Little Sahara OK) and have been kicking myself ever since. If I have to push my Banshee across Arizona I'll be there. There's gonna be so many HQ guys there this time it's not funny...assuming they don't flake out like I did last time, heh. I'll try and get my RZ shift star off in January and send it to ya with $40, I know it's not much but I hope it'll help (decided just to do the one star for now). Wallrat, I'd love to see the pics, hope someone can post 'em. Theeechozen1, you takin' a tent or what? I was just sorta planning on taking a sleeping bag and crashing out in the truck bed, trailer, or wherever I fall over (did that at the Kermit dunes once, woke up to rain at 3am and slept the rest of the night curled up in the passenger seat of the truck). I have been talking with Fixitrod, and we may be carpooling from his house in Indiana. I will be going right by. At least the way Mapquest points me. It is about 7.5 hours to his crib. Depending on what I drive, I should be able to turn it in about 6 or so. I am a friggin maniac, (like what someone said about Banchetta) when it comes to trips. It usually takes about 11 hours to get to Silver Lake from my area, and we have turned it in 7. We'll see what happens. If Chetta was driving, him, me, and Rod could split the $$ of driving out there. I think he is shipping and flying though.... I dunno. And B370 is even farther than me, but i think he is shipping too. If I can get the cash together, the wife shouldn't be a problem. That remains to be seen though.... I have to get the S-10 together first.... I'm workin' on it boyz. I don't know what the hell made me decide to try and do this, but I am stoked!!!! I wanna ride!!!! edit: Oh yea, Benny, stars are $25. I dropped the price by a few bucks. Don't know where ya got $40 from homie..... That's expensive for a star mod!!!! I grabbed a couple quick pics but have to head to the inlaws in a few so the rest will have to wait. -boonman, you should at least setup a paypal account so that people can use a credit card to pay you. It would be the NW corner of PA. And I done it. I put some auctions up on Ebay. We'll see who bites. I jumped the prices a little, (not the usual HQ hookup). I hook up the people from here, not from there... Anyways, I am going at this full bore. I wanna be there!!!! I am doing a motor for my buddy this week so he can get rid of his shee. (I know, not a good thing). But, it is a 2001, and he is letting it go for $2,000. I wish I could afford another bike. That is damn cheap!!! Anyways, he ordered up a CRF 450. Boonman: I do want to warn you.... And please dont hate me for this. If you do make this trip, you will be ruined. Silverlake will look like a kitty litter box and nothing will compare (unless your into MX-XC) It is ALL over once you play in a big sandbox. I've been to silverlake twice and have had many chances to return. (even flying in and riding someone elses banshee for free) I've passed up the offers for now, but do plan on taking the offer up.
