banshee370
Justin: according to my map program its 276 miles from the intersection of I-8 and 67. 1 to 2 jet sizes should do it... but always best to bring plenty with you and jet when your there (temp, humidity, elevation ect) transportation gas is well worth the investment into a new ride location. Banchetta
I've been wanting to go out west for some dune riding, but everyone always backs out...My only concern is trailering down to Cali... I don't really care to drive down there. But if someone doesn't mind runnin my quad down, I'll help pay for gas and I'll take a plane down there to meet you guys...Most of my friends can't really take that much time off, but thats my slow season exept for snowplowing, but my cousin can take care of that for me.....Any thoughts??? I'd love to hook up w/ a bunch of you, ride and shoot the shit around a fire....Maybe I'll get some Pt high rev headers for my shee for the dunes..... We got round trip airfare for 500.00 (2 people) I land in Vegas, pick up the MH, and the next morning drive out to the dunes. Paddles are a MUST! Lets go!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blue Duece
Just curious if I was able to make it, about how far is this from San Diego-El Cajon? About how many jet sizes should I go up from riding at glamis? about 2? Looking for some new places to ride, but gas is expensive on a long drive pulling a shee in my old truck. i think about 140 miles straight up the 15 north, it is a bit higher than glamis so just bring some jets....do a chop right off and adjust accordinly, might just run a little rich but thats cool.....ive gone from glamis to dumont on the same jets no problem
banshee370
Banchetta: Well I talked to the wife tonight... and as long as your not an axe murder then she is cool hehe We were planning on getting a smaller motorhome... If your interested and would like to split the costs we could get something a little bigger and you can ride w/ us from Vegas and back. I will be talkin to my buddy in Vegas after Turkey day so I will see how we could manage 2 quads (picking them up from the carrier and hauling them) Anyone else gonna commit to joining us in a little sandbox
Indubitably
I'm gonna try my best. Depends on how stuff gos over the next few months. Whos trailering your wheeler if your flying?? hehehe yea I met some of those "women" that night.... One was scary as HELL and she would have had to put a gun to my head first.... Hell she would have had to pull the trigger too hehehehehhe Well.... Then there were the two that well..... Ya know Ok off that subject hehe I'm shipping my shee out and having a good friend in Vegas pick it up for me.. We land.. grab the m/h, go to his place for the night.... Load up and head out the next morning. I'll be towing a small utility trailer w/ my m/h too. I think its a 2 hr drive +\- from Vegas. Get your shit in gear and start planning it!!!! Time to do it now and not wait until the last minute. My airfare is already paid for, I'll be reserving a m/h next week and setting up to ship my shee too. I plan on sending the shee out sometime in February. LETS DUNE!!!!!
Banchetta
I'll know more after the weekend. I have a bunch of friends that have been wanting to do this, but never got together. I don't think too many will go, but I'll ask anyway...I know Danny will go for sure and I'll see if there's anyone else. I'm going to start planning next week, no doubt. You know me, I'm all about big hills!!!!! Do we need flags??
Wallrat
My friend Danny wants to go and buy a shee over there all chromed out. You're friend might want to reconsider. Quads in California are seriously overpriced. Just your average, well taken care of, 1995 or later is gonna run you a minimum of $5000. Something chromed out will fetch in the neighborhood of $7-8000 depending on what's been done to it. Check www.cycletrader.com to double check. Also yes, you'll need a whip. banshee370
Banchetta: Wallrat is correct... Buying a chromed out banshee on the west coast is insane. He would be better off buying a new one from Alba out there. The "hills" are more than that... Like someone stated elsewhere... I think comp hill at Dumont is close to 1000' ! If you still have a stock lenght swingarm then I would highly suggest putting it on. The shorty will be too short. What do you have for paddles? A whip is a MUST. Those can be purchased out there. One thing I have to say... Dont be mad at me after you go! I have to say you will never want to ride locally again It's a whole new world out west
