wayne_smith97
How much in and out play is tolerable on the drive sprocket shaft? I taught my buddy's girlfriend how to drive my banshee. She called a mile later and said it won't move! Long story short, the drive sprocket nut backed off and I can't find it. I notice about an 1/8th inch of in and out play. Starwriter
When the sprocket nut is tightened up, that is what clamps the shaft, bearing, spacer, and sprocket together. It's normal to have endplay when it's not tightened up. Hopefully the threads on the shaft aren't trashed.

wayne_smith97
Will do. I don't know how it came off. I checked it about 3 months ago. Made sure it reached 60lbs of torque.

wayne_smith97
Yeah I guess assuming the locking tab would do it's thing was the mistake on my part. I always check the chain and adjusters and other small things before I ride. Just never really checked the drive sprocket unless I had the cover off. Oh well my screw up.
