hercalmighty
Just trying to get some opinions/ options on who makes good 7mm cranks. I don't care if it's forged or billet webs. I know crank works is a good option. Does anyone know about the tdr cranks, the ones he builds in house that run $800? How about Andy at No Limit/M&M? Is he still building cranks in house? Any other options anyone has first hand experience with? Thanks
hercalmighty
Anyone????? This is for a play bike not an all out drag bike. Don't really want to spend 1200 on a crank works crank but I don't want something that's going to grenade on me. I know some of you guys run different stroker cranks. Coupelx
Does hot rods still make a 7mil? That should be fine if setup properly. Are you doing a 7mil stock cylinder?
hercalmighty
I don't think they do. I will have to look. I bought what I thought was a 472 cheetah, ends up that it's a 499 cheetah. So I have an almost new 4mil hot rods crank that's useless to me lol
Coupelx
That's a rare one there! Has it been ported? It's been said the best thing to do to a 7cub is deck it to a 4 or port it to a 10. The same may apply in your case.
hercalmighty
Yeah. I put it all together and ran it. Just didn't seem to have what it should. Checked the squish and yep, 7mm 72 bore cylinders. I don't think it's been ported. If I can't find a 7mm crank for a good price, might check with some builders on making it a 10mm
trickedcarbine
Many folks living very happily ever after with the TDR cranks.

hercalmighty
Ok. Kind of figured. 800 is better then 1200 though
registered user
does tdr make the crank wheels in house ? i was under the impression they were made else where, perhaps over seas, and tdr just does the assembly
sleeper06
Webs are elsewhere I have one at my house rite now and he did a nice job assembling it , came with hot rods 115 long rod max load and tz on pto side checked it on my true stand and it was balls on less than .005 out, I wouldn't hesitate one bit built it within two days of ordering it and fully welded
RadarRacing
You should talk to tony and see what he says. He in the past had said on the bigger heavier pistons such as supercub, cheetah, and DM he would recommend the billet cranks over the forged ones due to the extra mass of the pistons. I believe he's using Wsm webs for those cranks.
trickedcarbine
Pretty sure they are WSM parts as well. BHP, is Vito's making a 7-10 mil like their newer 4mil crank yet?
