dgk30
So I bought a used banshee and the chain was really loose (about 2-3in of slack) with the swing arm adjusted all the way back so I took two links out (the least I can take out) adjusted the swing arm all the way forward and now there aren't enough links to put e chain back together, is it possible the chain stretched at just the right amount that there is no possible adjustment? Could It be worn out rollers? What am I missing?
dgk30
Also I should add I have all 104 links it was way too lose, took two out now won't close
special06shee
You can over size the adjusters to give you a little extra adjustment. If you got extra cabbage, buy a new chain and round house swinger.
special06shee
Oh wait, maybe you have to grind down the swinger a bit? I cant remember what i did.. Ha

dgk30
If only I could just take one link out
special06shee
You are always gonna run into this problem with a stock carrier style. Like i said before, you can modify either the adjuster or swinger(maybe both) to pick up that little adjustment. I just cant remember what i did. hoppedupandcutdown
I've had to grind the slots forward on the stock swingarm on several bikes.

dgk30
I will try grinding the slots, I have a dune trip next week and this is the last thing I needed to get done, go figure there would be a complication. I did some reading on other forums and some say to remove the lower roller and you are good, is that a good idea?
hoppedupandcutdown
I kinda like having a lower roller. I went out and double checked mine and it's slotted forward and the adjuster bolts are out about as far as they could possibly safely go, and I'm running a 13 front with a stock 41 rear. dgk30
So I took a ratchet strap to the carrier to pull it towards the frame and got it close enough to take the two links out and put the master link back in. I've got a decent amount of play when I'm on the bike about an inch to inch to inch and a half, I think I should be good, thanks for checking hopped, I'm about in the same spot. Now to put a case saver on just in case.
