Chain adjustment

So I bought a used banshee and the chain was really loose (about 2-3in of slack) with the swing arm adjusted all the way back so I took two links out (the least I can take out) adjusted the swing arm all the way forward and now there aren't enough links to put e chain back together, is it possible the chain stretched at just the right amount that there is no possible adjustment? Could It be worn out rollers? What am I missing?

I will try grinding the slots, I have a dune trip next week and this is the last thing I needed to get done, go figure there would be a complication. I did some reading on other forums and some say to remove the lower roller and you are good, is that a good idea?

So I took a ratchet strap to the carrier to pull it towards the frame and got it close enough to take the two links out and put the master link back in. I've got a decent amount of play when I'm on the bike about an inch to inch to inch and a half, I think I should be good, thanks for checking hopped, I'm about in the same spot. Now to put a case saver on just in case.
