fel0n
Im Buyin a quad on Thursday, and i wanna know what kind I should get. Its my first quad, I want a Banshee or a Predator, or a yfz 450. What should I get? And do you think a Banshee is too fast for a first quad. Im 14 years old and im 5'7 and weigh
00BANSHEE
Ditch the Predator idea. Either Yamaha is going to be a good choice. I rode a YFZ450 this weekend and I had thoughts of selling the shee and getting one of those.
Screamin_Demon
definitely ditch the pred. Like stated, either the shee or the 450 will be good choices. The 450 will be a bit more predictable... but you can't beat the thrill of hitting the powerband on the shee. Shee will cost less, and is better to mod. All things considered, it's up to you on which you prefer. Good luck on your choice.
fel0n
Ohhh, which ones faster?
Screamin_Demon
Someone posted a video of a 450 and shee racing awhile back... it might not have made it to the new forums. From what I've heard, they're about evenly matched as far as stock versus stock... but both modified... the shee takes the cake. There's so much more you can do to a 2 stroke to squeeze out every once of HP you can. 4 strokes are harder to do that with without boring them out extensively. fel0n
How much would the cheapest pipes be for a shee. anyone know?
MULLET~BOY
your looking at 400 for pipes new thats cheapest i know i'm gona get yelled at but the 450 might be a better quad for the first bike kinda thing but the banshee is awsome also
bignasty1
fro's right for the first quad the 450 would probly be better but i personally dont care much for 4 strokes because they are so hard to get power of but they do make nice easy bikes to ride. and preds suck bawlz. go with what ever you will be happy. boonman
From what I have seen first hand, stock for stock, a shee and a 450, the 450 will waste the shee. I was neck and neck (dead even) with my shee and a piped 450 at the drags. I did have a slight problem with traction, but the 450's are about as fast and good as it gets out of the box. My vote goes to the 450 for sure.
fixitrod
I'll tell you what. Those 450's are fast if you open up the airbox, rejet and pull the baffle out of the exhaust. You'll pay more but you're also getting newer technology, better suspension and handling, etc. The banshee is seat of the pants fun. What kind of riding do you plan on doing with it. NE-Shee
Sound like he is looking for the cheapest way out to me so i would go for the 450. When it come to dressing up a shee you should go for the best and most logical proformance part for your kinda riding. (NOT THE CHEAPEST) I will put my vote in for a 450. but good luck and happy trails in what-ever you buy.... 2003 banshee,tr6's,trinity stage 4 head, 20 cc turbo domes,k&n filter kit w/lid removed, A/C front and rear grabs, removed rev-limiters, and bandits front and rear... Wassup350
I started riding my shee @ 15. My first quad was a 250 trailblazer. I think the shee is a great starting quad you just have to be careful on it and dont go ripping on it till you know what the thing can do. Only downside to it is you have to play with the clutch a lot if you want to move slowly, but how often do you think your gonna be putting along for? Banshee crazy kid
hey im only 13, 5-4", and 120lbs and i have a banshee i started with a blaster but...if i had bought a banshee fo my first bike i would have done fineso u should aswell............it was just really hard gettin used to that stiff thumb throttle and the crazy power the banshee has.And i see guyz runnin around on there shee with 100hp+ now it's gonna take me a while to wanna do that but there is this site i goto and im thinkin bout putting every part they got on my banshee...yeah two strokes are alot cheaper to mod but the bad thing is you gotta wait for the rush of that hard hitting powerband........yep four strokes they got all there power to the whels soon as you hit the throttle but the bad thing is they cost too much too mod and get as much hp as you would a two stroke.....................................i recomend u buy the banshee but it's all bout you what do u want..but i knoe how u feel cuz im buyin a new fourstrok next year either the 450r or the yfz450 personally i like the 450r better cuz it's a honda and they are very relieable plus i like the specs better on it but i cant decide??????
