B.b.p builders
How soon is too soon to list parts in the for sale section? I bought a bike, but won't have it in my possession for 2 weeks, it has a bunch of good parts I want to sell or trade for the parts I need. The faster I dump or trade the parts the faster I can build the bike, so I thought if I listed the parts now, in 2 weeks when I pick up the bike they could already have buyers waiting? I'm not want I g any $ or deposited or anything crazy, just trying to line things up? I'm wondering is this ok to do? Or do we frown upon that around here? trickedcarbine
I think if you're up front with your intentions and people are informed what it is you're trying to do, there's nothing wrong with listing. Just gets interest. I do think you need pics though.
B.b.p builders
Ok thanks, I do have pics of the bike, no super detail, but they can see certain items. I will wait for others comment before I decide if it's good to list. I don't see a big deal in it, but out of respect, I don't want to cause havak, if others don't. B.b.p builders
It also gives guys a chance to get the cash together.
special06shee
I would never sell anything without it in my actual possession. I personally like to go over everything in great detail to a potential buyer. Without actual parts in hand, there is no way of doing that.
trickedcarbine
Ya^ that's true, but he's not asking for money. Just asking if people are interested in particular items. They have time to get money together and back out upon better detail.
B.b.p builders
Good point, but a sale isn't made until cash is given, all I want to do is put it out there that I am going to have these parts available to buy in 2 weeks time. In hopes guys can have money together by then to buy them as son as I have em. I bought the bike already, I've looked at it and went over it. Would I be able to give every little detail about certain parts, NO, can I say they everything on this bike is 7+out of 10, yes. Like I said I don't want $ all I want is potential buyers, so for example, I pick it up 2 weeks from today, of coarse strip it that night, send out pics, buyer likes, buyer pays, I ship out 10 parts to 10 different people all in one day, I'm thinking it just makes it go faster and easier, to speed up the process, cause the money is tied up and I want it back quick to put towards the parts I want
B.b.p builders
And honestly I'm really hoping to find trades, much easier.
trickedcarbine
Guys like whaco2000 and NYUK have posted photos of bikes to be parted before the actual part out. I have seen it here a few times and like I said as long as people know it's not a today sale. B.b.p builders
Tell u the truth it's not my "style" either, but the season will be over before I know it, I need to move quick with this project. I'm asking cause it's a group board and don't want to upset the herd, type of thing. I totally appreciate the input and support.

m671054
You cant have an accurate for sale ad if you dont have parts in hand. How is a buyer to know its a good deal without seeing the whole thing? All your gonna do is piss people off.
