YamahahCya
hey guys so my shees been sitting most of the summer.. ive literally rode it about 5 times. i dont remember the exact order of what happened because a lot happened with electrical stuff breaking, but as close as i can remember in order, i had to get a new stator because it got wet, got that, worked fine, then it started backfiring out of the left side & left pipe was getting really hot, shouldntve been getting even too warm let alone hot. it lost spark on one side.. & soon after lost spark on both sides.. i got a new cdi, went to start it, & it made a deafening pop & i smelled burning plastic, the left spark plug wire got shot right off the plug & was destroyed, new cdi & coil, i checked spark in stator & cdi & they have spark, but none getting to the coil.. the killswitch looks like the factory one could it be a bad killswitch? just makes no sense i want this thing finally running so i can put hours on it Edited August 23, 2014 by YamahahCya

TroyBrock
There is a huge thread about electrical testing, have you checked the woodruff key? pickup gap? Coolant doesn't just disappear, check your oil for coolant.
YamahahCya
this is my first bike im going to need that explained better. the oil looks fine though
fastbanshee8
If you don't have a Clymer's repair manual, now would be a good time to purchase one. Learn to use the Search function on here, and be prepared to read a lot.

YamahahCya
i looked at that & i really dont understand, theres a blue wire coming out of my cdi i dont see, i have 2 blue wires that are to be plugged into it 1 being for the taillight which i dont have on right now, so i probably have wires mixed up too, the wires are mostly all untaped so its hectic. also i looked into the gap thing for the flywheel, when i put the stator in i just tried linin it up didnt do any testing or anything i bet somethings off about that Edited August 24, 2014 by YamahahCya
TroyBrock
There is 2 nubs on the flywheel, take a business card and make sure it fits between the nubs and they pick up, it should fit snug. Check both nubs, adjust if needed. Post a picture of your CDI and wires. I'll shoot you a pm with my number, I might be able to help you sort your wiring. trickedcarbine
Totally possible to have a brand new part that doesn't work. Especially the aftermarket. Even the newest option.
YamahahCya
yeah i thought it would be a bad stator but its all the stock parts..plus stator & cdi have spark
03DMshee
Time to grab some beers and a multimeter. ..start testing continuity....test everything...make sure the voltage regulator is plugged in also
trickedcarbine
Fuck, just save the time and find a running bike you can swap parts off. Just make a post here trying to find some one within driving distance and go meet up and start yanking shit. I get that it's not the most technical, but I keep running spares around all the time to just do the ol' swap n' check. It's way faster at the track.
