ETR174
I've heard that getting a Advanced Timing Plate and setting it +4 Degrees will improve your low and mid RPM acceleration and I wanted to see if it is a good idea for my set up and see if there is anything else needed to be done after installing it. I have Wiseco forged 64.75mm pistons, Wiseco forged rods, crank, entire bottom end, and I run 93 octane gas with Golden Spectro 32:1 Also does this effect jetting at all? sycoticbanshee00
Can't go wrong with +4, I'm running +6 on mine, but on race fuel. Not sure on the jetting, but I heard to check your plugs to make sure it's not lean or anything.
Bennett131
get one, and always check jetting after making modifications.
trickedcarbine
Yep. + 4 is good. No head work right? Just check the plugs for deto and heat.
ETR174
Ok thanks. No head work. No porting. Will the advanced timing make my motor revv faster?
trickedcarbine
Get up in the revs faster yes. More rpm, no. Actually less RPM.
ETR174
Ok yeah that's what I meant. Ok, there a brand you would recommend?
trickedcarbine
Mattoon or chariot
ETR174
Alright thanks When I get some money that'll be the next thing on my list lol
jbooker82
At this point I would pass on the cheap cast plates in favor of a billet plate. I have a Pro Design in mine but it was before you really had choices on which billet plate you wanted to run.
ETR174
Ok I'll keep that in mind.
trickedcarbine
Like I said, Mattoon or Chariot.
ETR174
Well I hate to go with a cheap one but I'm desperate lol Would this work? http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?nav=item.view&id=331271238981&alt=web
