WINDYCITYJOHN400
19mm is the right one.
sprinklerman
SPRINKLERMAN'S IDEAL THERMOSTAT No wires, no sending units, no cheap digital stats to mount to his quad. Slow guys need all the gizmos to feel good. Fast guys don't care about such trinkets.
trickedcarbine
Why has nobody mentioned the MR Gasket rad cap with the temp gauge? Or you can even put a bung on an OE cap with a threaded in temp gauge.
sprinklerman
Why has nobody mentioned the MR Gasket rad cap with the temp gauge? Or you can even put a bung on an OE cap with a threaded in temp gauge. It sounds ghetto , but back in the day before inline gauges were readily available, we used to make them ourselves out of copper and a high quality thermometer. They would splice into the upper rad hose and the gauge poked through the upper side vent in the radiator shroud.

Bennett131
Some ppl have 6k plus into their engines alone...you bet your ass I'd keep an eye on it.
Bennett131
IMO its stupid not too.... 40-100$ mod to monitor temp ranges.... I'd pay more then that on the spot to know my temps... Just knowing when your bike is up to optimal temp is a hell of a gain... ive seen temps fluctuate 10-20F+ just in jetting adjustments when I was jetting / messing around My buddy actually saved his motor on his 450 cause his Fan quit working.. bike was going up in temp and stopped because he noticed it went to 215 and the fan never kicked back on... You all say a proper tune and you can forget about the motor temps? OK sure to an extent yes... but how is that every 450 comes with a fan and actually goes on regularly... throw the banshee into conditions that are prone to make it run hot... that 40-100$ mod can and will save your ass if you know when to check it. I agree 100%
JTmachining
This topic is not about the question to use a temp gauge or not. SMH
