sprinklerman
I don't get where you are getting that the TTO is inaccurate? I mean so be it for preference... I definitely know A LOT of people who won't run it just because of the extra wire.... but as far as it being a cheapo mod over a "mechanical" gauge wouldn't say thats an accurate review.I would. camatv
digatron. water temp, 2 egt's, rpm and a few other things if you really want.. if your dead set on monitoring your motor they actually data log also. koso i have seen have a battery and seem to fail. ( from what i saw) does the phone need service to actually link to all that stuff?? i mean if i had a good old phone and just used it for riding only that might be pretty sweet.. then i could just transfer the phone to another bike with ease. just a thought
B.b.p builders
I had a trail tech vapor on my trail banshee at one time. And it worked great. I know many have complained about rpm issues but I had no problems at all. Speedo worked great and the temp sensor was as good as any other with the added benifit of it haveing a setting to beep when your bike was too hot(a temp you preset to your preference). On my drag bike I have a basic inline temp gauge. If you want all the extra stuff that comes with a trail tech then it is the way to go. I believe I paid 100$ new for mine, but I don't really remember for sure.
WINDYCITYJOHN400
I would. ^^^ just trolling. My TTO reads the same as the stat on my shop wall. The machine temp matches the room temp eventually. So when I see my water temp matching room temp......I'm sure a gauge that is accurate to within one degree and agrees with the stat on the wall is accurate enough to monitor water temps. Much better to see 197 than bend over and see a needle kinda near 200....depending on the angle. Also better to get quick feedback rather than wait for heat to soak into a spring.....have it grow and unwind and move a pointer.

A well tuned bike shouldn't need constant monitoring. Adding wires ,sending units , and affixing cheap digital gages to my bike just isn't a priority to me. YOU are the ECM/Fuel Programmer that makes the tuning decisions. We hot lap bikes as much as we can. Seeing the temps drop in real time on my return trip to the starting line lets me learn in realtime if 1/4 throttle snd putting along works better than 1/3 throttle and more speed for more airflow. Also, on a gas motor 5 more degrees of heat soak in the motor can make a difference In finishline performance. If I can keep water temps under 180.....I can keep dragging without performance dropping. Anything above 180 and I might as well park it. Jgspahn
There's some wireless data logging stuff for the race car crowd. Get a wireless temp sensor and sync it to your IPhone or Droid. Put a clip for your phone on the bars. Now you got tunes, GPS, speedo, and whatever other shit you can dream of. Can't remember the company that makes all the SYNC stuff but I'll dig through a stack of magazines to see if I can find it. I have my I phone in the life proof case and one of the holsters for it on my bars and it takes abuse! I've rolled the quad and the phone was cool. Do you have a link or something for this.. tell me more.. im a bit of a nerd and im intrigued.
trickedcarbine
I still gotta get my bum ass up and dig through the magazine stack or start googling.
Jgspahn
What app do you use on your phone for all the other info.
trickedcarbine
I have the snomo and Atv trails for the UP, speedo(within 2-3mph), lap timer, music, all my tuning info, gas station locator. There's no limit to what cN be done with phones now. I think auto meter or MSD is supposed to be getting in to the wireless gauges that can interface through Bluetooth. Jgspahn
I guess Google doesn't have those apps. There used to be a cabela app that would track your movement on a map with terrain and all. Would show you everywhere where you went while it was on, but it didn't have speedo.
