7mm Stroker

I've got a 10mm stroker crank in my of my shees in the fleet and I pretty much ride it exclusively on trails. It has so much low end, it isn't funny. 1-4 gears really hits where it hurts. I never really get the chance to go 5-6 around on the crap trails here. It is worth it. It is also worth getting a clutch hold down plate and a better basket with the wider dogs if you are considering this. It likes to eat clutches a little quicker without it.

Thanks for the reply Raxen. I hope to race my Banshee next spring\summer, woods racing, hairscramble\XC\GNCC kinda racing. Im worried that a big 7mm is overkill for what im planning. I dunno. I really dont know what to do with this crank. The only cylinders that I have for this stroker are a set of virgin Rz juggs. Once they are set up for a big 7mm, there's no going back. I know most Banshee XC racers are running setups for low end grunt. I dont know......... Im torn whether to use this crankshaft or just sell it.

i have a 7mm stroker banshee, i dont know how old this post is but heres my .02 first the good things about the 7mm crank.... No more lowend bog, its a torquey bike compared to stock stroke with all the difference in the world, the powerband isnt as peeky which is what some love, but dont get me wrong its sill fun and peeky, but not as tiring. I have so much duration on my exhaust ports and the bike still pulls hard on bottom, my favorite thing about it is the roads around here where i live are really curvey and before i would have to get down into 3rd gear to pull hard out of them, now i can easily swing around them in 4 or 5th and lug it, then power comes on almost immediately sending my front end skyward. Now for the bad things, new porting, cut domes, sufficient carburetion(34pjs), gas mileage, stronger clutch, main thing is the money, i have came along ways on mine and alot of the time i wish i had kept stock stroke because i remembered alot of worry free riding i did, and i have had nothing but hell with this 7mm stroker, but thats cuz i didnt have the money i needed to do the job correctly well now i have everything in order the compression is a little high(195) was 215 then i shaved the domes .030 more and dropped it to 195. my setup consists of wicked head, blaster pistons, crank works 7mm crank, shaved flywheel, wicked 34mm setup $$$750!, pingel<-----do not even attempt to ride you bike without it, wicked clutch<--works good$$130!, FMF sst's, 4
