B.b.p builders
Nice good to know!! Why on almost every cheetah thread I read the opposite around here anyway. cub has more power to cc ratio is another big one always mentioned.. Seriously do you not read the same posts as I do? Even this post, is filled with with cheetah trashing. It's very nice to see and hear shit is still going strong. What's the estimated hp and torq of that motor? 10milmike
I have no idea on the hp and tq of that triple. It was in my buddy's Shop a few weeks ago to get the racers edge pipes fitted. Yes I read the same post you read. Some people just hate the cheetahs. There is always going to be haters.
10milmike
Funny think is the guys that are top top builders keep there mouths shut. And never really post of here. I know a few guys that are not on this form that can build the shit out of a motor. And all there triples are cheetahs.
sprinklerman
What some people don't realize is a PROVEN motor is worth more than just a plain-jane, everyday ,run-of-the-mill motor. If a motor is KNOWN to be strong, by all rights it should be worth more......you just have all these broke guys trying to low ball all the time. ( not talking about anyone in this thread, just in general)
WINDYCITYJOHN400
Takes 3 cylinders to get a Cheetah to be impressive. LOL ......(also with no powervalves.) Same guy who just fixed 10milmike's cheetah.....is now making same power with Mailman's 7 mill Cub...... Yes. I'm a Cheetah hating basher. Feel free to ignore my comments and carry on as you were. I'm only posting those facts for my entertainment. Please don't let it cut into your fun.
10milmike
First he did not fix my cheetah he ported it and had the crank rebuilt. And that 7 mil cub is on alky not race gas.

Your even still running the Tim Bond domes I told you to get. And Mailman's 7 mill in on gas. Thanks for playing.
registered user
i think exh valves are a great idea but with so many design variations some will be more affective than others. if your powerband is from 7-9k rpm and the engine never operates outside that window like some drag racers for example, i dont see any reason to complicate things with a exh valve. for everyone else i think a valve can be a valuable addition. anybody thats tinkered with non exh valved engines will probly tell you its difficult if not impossible to get the engine to run exceptionally well across the board without a way to vary the size of its exh port. 10milmike
First you did not tell me to get get tim bonds domes Doug at dm did. And for a dune bike I was happy with 97hp on a unported cheetah. So mail man 7 mil on race gas is making 120 hp ok. I wanted more so matt ported it. And is was not broken. 10milmike
Windy so glad you know my motor and how Mat fixed it. Lmao When all he did was port it. Now the only reason I had him port it was because I had to get it renickel when I sucked in a reed screw at dumont. Tommy was riding when bike when it happen. We were all camping together and Shearer told me if you wanna to drag race let me port your motor. So I did. He never put my motor together I did so I don't know how I could not fix a unported cylinder. This is why I want throw the whole engine and had the crank rebuilt and cylinders ported. Thanks for playing John glad you know my motor.
Atomic Monkey
I've been into snowmobiling for years, and from my experience... the power valve gives you the edge on the trails because the band comes in earlier. And when it's operating properly, it's not supposed to impede top end... it's there to spred the curve.
