Ya there is a sand mountain in Nevada, it's about 45min to an hour away from me. I think there is one in Utah also, but don't quote me on that one. There is nothing like riding in the desert out here, I go out of my driveway and down the road a little and there is acres and acres of BLM land to just have a blast!! I love it out here!!

there is a sand mountain in utah. From what i have read online it is supposed to be the largest sand mountain in the US i believe, but i could be wrong. One site i read said it was 600 feet high another said 800. I just know it is an awesome hill to race up.

The one and only Sand Mountian, Nevada is the steepest tallest single standing dune in North America. It is about 650 feet and is great for drags, none of this flat drag stuff! Thier is nothing like coming up a razorback, then dropping all most vertical down 600 feet, hit the gas and hang on!

Sand Mountain Utah is in the Little Sahara park. I think its rideable to 600 ft, but continues on at one point to almost 800ft of rock trees ect. Its SOMEWHERE around that high. Its like being in an airplane when you take pics of the campgrounds.

It also has 3 levels of riding. On the northernt most side, the Freeway Side, its relatively easy to go up. You'll find stock banshees, 4 strokes, and some piped banshees going up this.

In the middle is called The Face, its alot steeper. This is where you will find Larry Short in his turboed GIXXER mini sand rails running 88mph up this thing. Piped banshees mostly and the tricked out drag quads. Serious racers mostly

Then on the southern most side is called The Shoots, or if you've been around a while they are sometimes called The Fingers. 3 trails going up the side of this thing. I've gone down it from a trail from the top, but never up it. When I came down it, I had all brakes locked, and I swear I was sliding down this thing at 20mph. If you go up, you need to make sure you can make it. If you get stuck, there is about an %80 percent chance you're going to roll down it before you ever get turned around.
