jriffe23
I have an update on my build. I have decided on a few things that will be added to the list. I originally was going with stock swinger style but with input from a few people here i have decided on a +12 round house carrier style swinger. Also to go along with the driveline performance lock up, im going with a F.A.S.T. racing clutch. With my budget getting larger, the time its going to take to complete is going to be longer. Originally i was going to use a stock head milled for a 4 mil, but i have a coolhead laying around so im going to use it. Ill soon be calling F.A.S.T. to see if they can hook me up with some 18cc 4 mil cut domes, so obviously im going to use race gas. Also going with some billet intakes for 39mm carbs that are set up for vforce 2's. Now here is where my questions arise, should i stick with the v2's or get v3's or v4's, ive saw a lot of guys that swear by the v2's so what should i do on reeds for this 4mil stock cylinder setup? Also the ebay pod filters any good? They are similar to the k&n expect you can get them 14 inch long, are those a good idea?
sheerider11
Vf2 or vf4 both are supposed to be good. Since it's a drag only bike knock off filters should be fine. I had a set of knock offs with outerwears and the carb looked like I had no filters. This was a trail bike in dusty conditions.

Nightmare
I'd go v2's if it's drag only, just my 0.02.
Deadbeat
Tyson drag arms are priced low enough you dont need to buy used
camatv
dont buy those shit filters. few years ago they seemed ok but the last few sets i have been around have been rippig in the rubber and seem to not filter for shit. spend the extra 20.00 and buy real k+n. why not just go alky already.. id run the poo out that frame. when i started doing this there was a guy that ran an xluw lsr that was fully drilled like that. he rode wheelie through 4th gear and slammed it down at the end. it i believe is still around somewhere.. jriffe23
no alky yet, im going to wait for the bigger motor before i go to that. Maybe when i step up to a 10 mil within the next couple years
jriffe23
UPDATE: I am considering extending the frame about 4 inches out front. If i do that though im going to be needing a longer steering stem. Anyways, pistons are on the way which is the end of the puzzle for now. I'll be starting the motor and making sure it runs, then tearing in all the way back down and motor components are heading to powercoating. My ideas are to powder coat the cases and the head candy orange and the cylinders a metallic silver or show chrome. The case cover and stator cover will just be polished, but i think that might look funny because the cylinders and the covers probably wont match. I may just leave the cool head polished and have the cylinders candy orange. The control arms and swing arm, also the linkage will all be powercoated show chrome. Sprocket hub, brake rotor hub and wheel hubs will all be powercoated candy orange also and im also welding a tyson racing pointed subframe on instead of the one thats on it. Im going to do all the welding and metal work myself due to that fact i have all the necessary equipment and the skills. If the frame turns of like i think it will, i may be tempted to do some frames for other people through this forum. This is the first frame I have done, but I have done a few swingarms for some friend in my area. They turned out very nice so lets just hope my frame work does too. Cheers everyone.
