Jgspahn
Ok so from reading through old threads I'm not sure if I did this right.. here's what I did.. Hooked up compression tester in one side.. Left the plug in the other cylinder.. kicked it like 50 times with the throttle held open.. then switched cylinders.. Old threads say use a long adapter? Warm it up the running temps? Take the plugs out?

Jgspahn
My head has been shaved by fast.. I thought those numbers sounded stock.. maybe a little low b/c of shaved head and port job, but I was happy with the difference in the two.. Jgspahn
Does this mean theres a good chance my cylinders are still in decent shape?

oldskool
Your ready to put it together with clean carbs. Do you know where your jetting should be?. Sync carbs.
Jgspahn
My carbs constantly overflowing so I'm looking for a cheap set of stock ones to make it through til I can afford new bigger ones. Are yall sure there's nothing else I need to check... it was pretty tough to start after the lean incident, but I think that might be my shitty carbs.. but I dunno... Jgspahn
Your ready to put it together with clean carbs. Do you know where your jetting should be?. Sync carbs. I think the jetting is good. It ran hard before the incident.. also yes I have a sync tool. Still feel like there's something else I should check. . I think I'm just being a pussy cause I dumped a bunch a $$$ into it, and then it hasn't run but an hour since. .................
Jgspahn
Thoughts on if I should bolt up carbs and try it?
Jgspahn
So anyone have additional thoughts on compression? I bought some carbs. When they get here am I good to just bolt them up and try to start it and go from there?
trickedcarbine
NO.... Inspect them in and out. Install correct jetting.
Jgspahn
UPDATE................................ I got everything on the bike today. I couldnt get it to crank. Kicked till my foot hurt. I sprayed a lil starting fluid and it cranked 2nd or third kick. Once it started it seemed to run well, but it wouldnt idle. When i let it get down to a rpm that it should idle at, it would bog and die unless i goosed it. Once it quit running it would not crank back up without the started fluid.. even though it had been running. Also the right side didnt seem to smoke very much like the left side at low rpms.. once it got up into the rpm range the both seemed to smoke at the same rate.... Where am I at guys.. tell me what I need to start checking.. tell me what yall need to know to help me.. Pllllllllease
WINDYCITYJOHN400
Sync carbs, adjust idle screws, set choke, say prayer? Plug fouling from assembly lube? Bad gas? Kick like a girl? LOL
