rjdgriff
So I just got sniper pipes for my 10mil serval this year and love them. The only issue I have had is that I have a hell of a time keeping my fuel line from melting. With the 35pwk carbs the line runs right against the pipe and when I try to zip tie it away from the pipe I can't get to my choke anymore. I am wondering is anyone running a steel braided fuel line? Is there a simple way to do that? I think it would be a great look and be much better than having melted lines all the time. And yes I have tried angling the carbs different and I could probably run a longer line but I don't want to have an upward loop in it really if I can help it. Just exploring options here really
BUILDER
I have no doubt you can find a steel braided line but think you would still have a problem. If the line is that close to the exhaust your fuel is going to end up getting way to hot in the line and causing you serious problems
okbeast
Not the answer you want, but as long as the upward loop is below the tank level, there shouldn't be any issue. A braided line would be badass though. Although I like to clear to be able to do a quick spot check.
m671054
Make tight bends with steel fuel line sections to clear obstacles.

possum
dont turn it around thats stupid. take it off and re-teflon it to make it tighten facing inward more or wherever works best.
87sheerips
I run a piece of small rubber high temp hose OVER my fuel line. It rests right on the pipe and doesn't melt. Been this way for years and works well.
Zillaguy
I ahve seen guys take the nipples out of the carbs and tap them to 1/8" pipe thread. Then thread AN fittings in the carbs and in the Pingle. Then use double wall braided stainless line with nice screw together AN fittings... Makes for a clean leak free set-up.. AN fittings are expensive though..
trickedcarbine
Really this is an issue that comes with just about any set of aftermarket pipes and bigger carbs. Just keep it as far off and maybe coat it with something to protect it.

shanYE west
I've never had a problem. T5, CPI, Shearer or PT mid & Highs. I've always used 35 and 39 pwks. Post up some pics of the problem.

dave5.0
Didn't they come with some heat shielding stuff to put over them? Mine did. Then I zip tied it to the choke.
