Broke Easy Out!

O.K. I was trying to remove a broken bolt for my buddies 400EX bumper. Well I snapped the bolt extractor, it was a #2!! And I did it using a tap wrench. We couldn't believe it when it snapped. So how do I get that piece out. We're gonna just drill out the hole and retap it, but you can't drill the hardend easy out. What do I do?

Also, I need to remove the studs from my case. I tried doing the one nut on top of the other trick but those studs were not budging. I also applies heat but was careful not to apply too much since the casing is Al. How do I remove them?

try a impact to break the seal. the easy out, get someone to weld a piece of scrap to it and use some pliers to unscrew it, when we did this we dabbed a spot on the extractor and bolt and it came out rather easy with a pair of channel locks.

if the easy out busted inside the bolt hole you could also try using a backwards drill bit and remove it that way, when the bit bites it should back it out. as for the case bolt set a ratchet extension ontop of it and hit it with a hammer fairly hard and it sould knock the threads loose, had to do this on other things.
