Override problems starting (maybe)

Recommended Posts

It's a dunable override, not sure who cut it. Problem that has just started to happen is when bike is in neutral not running and you push it forward its fine, but push it backwards it seems to catch the gear, but not fully cause I can still push it forward with no issue.

Also starting in neutral with clutch in, it seems to pull itself into gear on its own.

This is my first override, and I will say it has been hard getting use to it.

But how it happend I believe is a did a run, pulled in clutch from wide open and shut off bike to get a good plug read. I rolled to a stop with clutch in and it seemd that the gears were still catching with clutch in as I rolled to a stop?

Any suggestions about any of this?

Is the tranny on its way out?

Whole tranny? Or is it just the shift forks?

I didn't put the tranny in, it was already in. Springs looked fine, to me, I also sent a pic to redline a while back, when I tor into the motor for inspection. Durring inspection I did not remove the transmission, Also the Tranny was fine first cpl runs, but I may have back loaded as I said I'm not use to it. I'm wondering is this a problem that happens from back loading?

This is my first drag bike, it's a 535 cheetah, to be totally honest it's scarry as hell! Lol I find slowing down at the end of the run the nerve racking part. I can handle the pulling after a cpl runs, but letting off is a shaky ride, wah.

But that's a hole different thread, I'm really concerned about this tranny at the moment, going out again today for some practice runs and I'm wondering if its going to just give out.

A hard backload can bend a shift fork and cause your issues.

You gotta pull in the clutch at the end of the run.

If you backload it at high RPM'S/SPEED the forces on the forks are great.

I find it easier with cable on. so I can feel where it engages and adjust both handle and pancake to where I want both.

This.

I set the adjustment on the perch to where I can adjust it if the clutch gets hot..

Then I set the pancake according to the perch adjustment.
