My Introductory Post- new from GA

Recommended Posts

Joined here a few weeks ago but haven't had the chance to give a formal introduction until now. I bought my first Banshee about 3 weeks ago traveling 900 miles round trip to purchase a nice '06 in the white/silver colors. That color combo looks very classy IMHO. It is very a nice stocker except for FMF chrome pipes with Turbine Core 2's. It also has the Y boot with the large Uni and sleeve over it. PO said he didn't want to get it dirty so his loss is my gain. I also bought 3 other quads for the wife and children (Polaris 400 Scrambler and two 250 Trail Blazers) for family fun trail riding time. Wrenching on one of the TBs right now. The rest of my family did not want to shift (no prior experience) so being a 2 stroke gearhead, choosing the Polaris CVT 2T autos was an easy decision. I'm curious to see how the Banshee will fare on family slower paced trail rides. My Banshee runs good but haven't confirmed the jetting in the stock carbs. Can anyone share a ballpark of what the jetting should be in terms of size with mains, pilots, and type/ position of needles with my bolt ons mentioned? I may have to open the stock carbs up just to look and confirm what's there. I'm not new to 2 strokes and have always enjoyed the older vintage 2 stroke street bikes. I currently have an '04 Yamaha RZ350 and a '72 Kawasaki H2 750 Mach IV Triple. Restored each. I thought some of you might want to see a pic of my RZ in action at Deal's Gap on the Dragon so it is attached. It is a great handling bike and has many mods to it to improve it. The H2 is a beast and has chrome TNT spannies, backcut trans by R&D Motorsports, etc. I think I really enjoy wrenching as much or more than riding! Anyway, enough about me for now.... If anyone else is in Central GA (I'm in Macon) and wants to ride (quads or motorcycles), please give me a shout out! Glad to be here and looking forward to participating.

I'm at about 200 ft above sea level. Yes, I've been into the engine and carbs more than a few times with the RZ!

Welcome to BansheeHQ!

I'm guessing you should be at 27.5 pilot and 280-300 mains for that setup. You may want to start rich and work down. I'd leave the needle clip in the middle and air screw will be .5-2.5 turns out.

Boom!

now thats diggin up a dinosaur drag bike!

the experience with the rz is just going to transfer over to your banshee.  you should be able to jet it pretty easily biggest thing is your going to wonder where all the lower end power is onthe banshee due to it not being a pv like the rz..

whats funny is i just recently got a 400 polaris scrambler for a trail bike.  to many joint problems to really ride the banshee in the trails hard anymore.

Yes, the 400 Scrammy really surprised me too! Bought it for my wife and have installed a rear hitch . Have a Badlands winch to install too with the correct mount plate for it. Taking it tomorrow to ride actually. I think it will be a great trail ATV.
