Need Help finding a starting point, Bike is running good at high rpms, wont idle bogs up to 1/4 throttle unloaded. Choke to start when it is warm,  Don't have enough area right now to do a plug chop.  From what I have read I have the wrong size pilot or plugged pilot jets, cleaning them now and they were dirty.

1) What type of aftermarket exhaust do you have?
Toomey T-5

2) What type of airfilter do you have?k&N Pods

3) Are you a)running a stock airbox with lid cool.gif stock airbox with NO lid c) Stock airbox with vents d) no airbox at all

4) What is your elevation? 5280

5) What size pilot jets are you using? 25 (seems small I have 35s that aren't installed)

6) What size main jets are you using? 290

7) What temperature is your Banshee jetted for? unsure first time jetting Frankenstein build shooting for 90 degrees or so

8) Do you have a port job? Stock porting (next mod)

9) What kind of carbs? Stock

10) What size carbs? Stock

If it helps, I'm running a timing plate at +4, 18cc coolhead domes, stock bore, boyesen dual stage reeds, tors deleted, idle screws installed,

I'm going to try to pick up a set of 27.5 pilots today. How do you test if pilot is ok? Cleaned the 25 and shee is actually idling now. So that's a good start!

You know if the pilot is good by how it runs with air screw adjustment. If it runs better with more then 2-2 1/2 turns out then you would wanna go down on pilot size. If it runs better with the air screw all the way in, you may need a richer pilot.

We run your same basic combination using Toomey's guidelines. Our cool head has 22cc domes & run 280 mains & 27.5 pilots. Our base altitude is 2300' & our Density altitude is 5000' - 7000'. We run 1/4 mile asphalt with this set-up & have been 92 mph with this tune-up.

It's hard to go wrong with Toomey's T5 recommended tune-up.

I got her to idle last night with 25 pilots, 1.5 turns on air screws. Just bought 27.5 pilots and 280 mains. 21 bucks for all four!
