What to expect from powercoater quality wise?

Just got back my frame from powder,Overall i'm pretty happy with it,Quite a few spot in the crevis's where the candy blue didn't flow into where the silver base coat did,Also on the upper portions of the frame there's dry area's.Powder guy says that the best he could do and that he was mostly concentrating on the lower area's where the frame can be seen once assembled. Also said said you never know how candy is gonna come out.I'm slightly irritated because i'm a perfectionist and I paid for a professional at a professional price.I myself have painted frames in the past with 2 stage automotive paint and usually there is a few small area where I could not get the paint into.He missed more than I would with a gun.I would think being electrostatically charged it would flao better than paint? Also when painting with a gun,I never leave dry spots,If anything i get a run or 2.

2 stage colors are somewhat difficult to do in powder. Dry spots are not acceptable, however, powder does not like corners at all.

You can crank down the power and air a bit and it SHOULD go into the hard to reach corners and cracks a bit better.

Tri-coat candy paint doesn't like tight inside corners either. Especially like a dark candy over a light base.

Goggle " Faraday cage effect" to explain the problem in powder.

I'm also very picky, and paint for a living, but frames for anything are tough. Usually once it has all it's clothes on the defects are much more tolerable.

Edit, I realize that I didn't finish my thoughts on the subject...  If you paid a real shop, real money, and aren't happy, by all means take it back and let them know about it.

I took my brother's frame back to my PC guy last year for the same type of stuff. It was a two part Prismatic color.

The second time looked 10x better. I think he just didn't take his time to get all the hard to reach places.

I'd take it back and have him redo it.

Thanks for the replys,It was dark and rainy when i picked it up.I noticed some of the crevis's and just let it go.Once I got home, sun was out and I really went over it tooth and nail and noticed the dry spots, more missed spots etc.I called him and basically everything i said above he told me.No offer to redo or refund. So I got hosed.I hate hiring anything out as i can never find anyone good at anything.Stupid for him as i have alot of parts I need done from other projects as well as another frame that will be ready friday. If I wouldn't have been in a hurry or saw the extensive issues i would have taken my frame and not of paid.

He should fix it. As stated, some jobs are harder then others but if someone says they can do it professionally and you pay the professional price, you should get a professional job. That's the point in paying a PROFESSIONAL.

Fucking sick of seeing guys say they can handle detail and you pay them based upon that then when it looks hacked up they just tell you how hard it is and that you should deal with it.

OP. Find a window in his shop and throw your frame through it. Fair trade.....

I hear you guys,i'm not gonna push it.If I call and he says dumb things or I go there and he dosen't act right.I'm gonna potentially get myself in trouble.I spent my youth in jail, probation or with warrants from my anger.I have a wife,kids,5th one on the way actually.I really try to pick and choose my fights.......What goes around comes around and good things happen to good people. The frame i just got done was a Lonestar banshee 250r geo frame,Well i've always wanted a laeger....Well just today I happen to look up a guy I spoke with a year ago about his laeger.Turns out he's still got it and he's dropped the price 1k!!Tomarrow i'm sending a cashiers check and in about 2 weeks i'll be looking at my new laeger!
