Need help w key and fly wheel

Recommended Posts

Take a center punch and give it one center punch dimple on the side of the key where it sits in the crank. It will make a very slight raised spot on the key. Tap it into crank slot, install flywheel, happy happy

Slot in crank straight up

Key should parallel to the floor

Make sure the key slides freely in the slot on the flywheel before install (slot free of crap)

If the key is sloppy in the crank, get a new one

Wouldn't think a drop of gasket sealer under it would hurt anything though

Always lap in the tapered surfaces, too
