2004LEBanshee Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 May be normal but here goes. Bike starts 1st kick with choke when cold with no need for the throttle pressed. When i get the bike nice and hot after riding a bit i need to press the throttle abit to get it to start as i kick. Usually this time i do not have the chokes pulled. Is this typical for others? Bike is 10 cub with pwk 39. 168 55.Revs clean. Just wondering if others experiance this. Quote
Strm Trpr Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 When out in the dunes riding hard and we stop for a minute to chill and I start my bike again, sometimes I need to thumb it simultaneously while kicking it once and it fires. Otherwise it'll start but idle low and die. Starts great when cold with choke. I probably need to check my idle rpm when it's hella hot? Plus, I set my idle with the filters off when I was syncing the carbs and never checked my hot idle with my pods on. I'll get that done for my July Pismo trip. Quote
salmon_slayer06 Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 (edited) I would say the pilot jet is a bit too big and or the air screw needs to be adjusted. Drop the pilot down one size or put a clean filter on to help lean it out a bit. opening the throttle is allowing more air to enter. Edited July 17, 2014 by salmon_slayer06 Quote
