WINDYCITYJOHN400
I have added engine dampers to all 4 corners, and made solid mounts for the under side. I may be able to get my hands on a Packard bearing support for cheap. I wonder I that engine stay from Loco/JDS will work on it. Between the studs on ice and Hoosiers on asphalt, this thing sees lots of load so no doubt it could be twisting. People spend SOOO much time and effort on locking a motor in place. Reality is, it can't twist that many degrees of rotation. But if your swingarm twists a couple of degrees.....it's LENGTH magnifies that rotation. It can move left/right and even twist clockwise/counter clockwise. This will cause chain/sprocket misalignment. Using worn parts with new parts can be an issue as well. Stretched chains wear new sprockets. Overly worn sprockets ruin new chains quick. Having the proper torque on the swingarm mounting bolt is another VITAL factor. locogato11283
That could be true as well. Bad pivot bearings or a sloppy swingarm sleeve could cause issues. I know that in my case, all my swingarm parts were new, so I narrowed it down to the motor. Once I designed the motor support and had the first one built, it eliminated all my chain problems.
