Durf4693
Here's my mods- stock motor,carbs,head,reeds- T5 pipes, k&n air filter with no snorkel, tors delete, running 280's and 27.5. Air screw out 1.5 turns. Living in western New York. It's seems a little rich, little boggy in the low end , air filter smells like gas, front of air box before filter seem a little wet but not soaking wet. Try 270's ? Durf4693
Ah also- plugs are fairly dark but I also have a pro design cool head with 22 cc domes I will be putting on. Should I go right of the 270's or keep the 280's till I get the head on?
Surfrjag
Check your reeds. If air is coming back thru then gas will be on air filter
special06shee
From what i remember i always had little residue of fuel in my carb boot when i ran a box. If your jetting issue is down in the lower rpm range, lean out your needle and try that before you change mains.
Durf4693
They look good, i don't have them out but looking into the intake boot they look good.
Durf4693
I'm guessing it's rich because it's kinda a pig until the power band then it takes off but it seems too boggy until power band comes in.

Surfrjag
Is your airbox lid still on?

Durf4693
Is the big rubber o ring in a carb kit for where the needle attaches to the slide ? There wasn't was in there but it fits and kinda makes sense ...
Durf4693
Use the new needle that came in carb kit or keep old? Taper starts in a little farther down on new needle. Moose Carb kit, any experience with these? Also I just bought a k&n power lid to let it breathe, I'm gonna stick with the 280's I think with the power lid. Or should I jump to 290? bluebanshee98
If your not riding in deep ass water or really muddy stuff and not going through huge puddles of water at 50mph then i would go with pods. Cleans it up a lot & your motor will be able to breath. Don't forget to rejet if you switch over
Durf4693
Yeah that's true I have a 4x4 for that kinda crap, but there's always the situation where I'll have no choice but to cross something and get wet/muddy I'll keep the box n try a power lid for now, thanks fur the advice though ! bluebanshee98
You don't need the lid. You said you have to cross something.... If your not taking you banshee swimming aka that deep of water then you can still go in but just go slow with pods through the water. If you must run a airbox take the lid off so it can breath somewhat more
Durf4693
K & N power lid would be good right ? With an outer wear ?
