350shee01
I have an 01 Banshee 350 that's bone stock. The previous ownwer didn't take of it at all. It won't start by kicking it over, only by being pushed or pulled. I recently rebuilt the carbs on it and it wasn't running/idling right after that. I let it set for a few days and now it won't even start by kicking or pushing it. If/when it does by pushing it, it seems like the throttle response is off and its low on power. I recently changed the reeds, reed gaskets, spark plugs and fuel filter in it. Any help on getting it started would be greatly appreciated. Also, it has 290 mains and a 27.5 pilot after I rebuilt the carbs. My fuel/oil ratio is at 40:1 right now, and the idle screw is about 1 1/2 turns out right now. foxrider603
Do a compression test. Sounds like its time for a rebuild
foxrider603
If your bone stock why are you running such large jets?
350shee01
That's what I thought, I haven't had a chance to get the kit to do so. What's the stock compression supposed to be at? I've heard anywhere from 115-135psi? My last banshee had 165/side. I'm running them so big becuase I'm 712ft above sea level, and that's also what the banshee shop recommended, and that's what came in the carb rebuild kit for my shee. It has mikuni VM26SS carbs on it, which are stock.
special06shee
Stock jetting is 200.. Your way too big on mains.. A tight stock motor should be 120ish
350shee01
Ok, I thought I was way too big. I'll try to get some new mains after the weekend and do a compression test. I'll post results then after I get it all said and done. Until then, if there's any more info I can get, it's much appreciated.
special06shee
Id put a 25pilot(stock size) back in too.
foxrider603
tors might be acting up as well
350shee01
I put a TORS eliminator kit on it, so it can't be the TORS. I haven't checked compression yet, I'll be doing that when I get off work at 6am. If the compression is good and I go back to stock jets, what else could it be? foxrider603
Are you positive your getting good spark?
350shee01
As far as I know I am, I'll check that when I do my compression test tomorrow. Sent from my PM23300 using Tapatalk
350shee01
Well, I got it running but now I just have to retune my carbs to keep it running. The compression checked out. Both sides were 128psi. Thanks for all the help and info. Sent from my PM23300 using Tapatalk
