bansheeguy_81
Ok so i was taking my rear wheels off the strip thw paint off that the guy before me painted and for some reason i cant get the hub to slid off the splines of the axle. Looks like all the splines line up and it hasnt twisted but i cant seem to get the damn thing to come off. Anyone have any ideas?? Was thinking about maybe heating up the axle and splines? hoppedupandcutdown
I had one with lock-tite on the splines, a little heat from a propane torch on the hub worked fine. Would work for paint or rust too.
BUILDER
Put a little heat on the hub and it should come right off. They tend to get stuck over time

trickedcarbine
Don't heat the axle splines. That just swells the axle making it tighter in the hub. Heat the hub and TAP it top to bottom, side to side. Odds are the hub splines are rolled over inside.
