Dome o-ring mating surface

Ready to put my head on and pow see a very small nik/ding in the cylinder and head mating surface right next to the bore. Does this need attention or long as it passes leak down go with it ?20140504_021731_zpsuzl0y2zr.jpg

The nicks on there look so friggin minimal I doubt they would even make an issue due to their location as well. It only takes a few mins to drop a head on and another few mins to make sure it's sealed. If it doesn't seal then deal with it. But if it ain't broke don't fix it.

 

By no means am I saying to fully assemble it and assume it's fine, then fill it up with fluids and see what happens though. Just check it on the bench and see what happens.

That's not bad. I've had worse seal with no problems. From the picture I don't think you really need to bother but if it were mine and it had a sharp feel to it I'd VERY carefully take a small file and just touch it enough to take the edge off.

Picture may even make it look worse than in person but I'd rather be safe than sorry, just seems 6psi in a leak down may not show problems that 170+ may while running. At least that's what my noodle is thinking

You're correct that a leakdown test won't be comparable to actual running conditions but I think you are way to worried about that little dink.

It's going to be OK lol - Put her together and go have fun!
