james berry
I have a hot rods crank i believe is 4 mil, hot rods long rods, will need new pistons, have cylinders bored .040 over, I have a cool head. Can this setup be reliable every day rider. on my bike now I have stock bottom end, Wiseco .030 over pistons, vforce reeds, cool head. Its extremely reliable but I would like some more power. What do you guys think about reliability of the 4 mil setup is it worth my time?
oldskool
X2, Get it tuned properly, correct squish. make sure domes/piston are a match. Very reliable motor
WINDYCITYJOHN400
You can make a TON of power and still have reliability. The only thing that really makes these motors unreliable is OWNERS who do a poor job at JETTING. Simply doing a bore and a 4 mill crank isn't even going to get you in the 60HP range, so your not compromising reliability at all. BUILD ON! james berry
Thank you all on this. I am going with Wiesco Pistons 66 mm, boyesen two stage reeds, My Pro circuit full exhaust, cool head, port matched cylinders and of course the 4mil crank with long rods. I think this will work out ok.

WINDYCITYJOHN400
You can make 100HP reliable. It only requires proper jetting. The "Unreliable" reputation comes from thousands of poorly jetted motor failures.
sleeper06
Its only as reliable as the builders attention to detail, and the parts you put in, you stated you had a crank, is it used?
bluebanshee98
The "Unreliable" reputation comes from thousands of poorly jetted motor failures.I would also add the ones that have air leaks causing too lean conditions and causing meltdowns
camatv
lots of sub par parts available right now.. good thing is there are a lot of improved parts that can make or break a build..
SandSlingerOR
Trinity Racing makes nice & reliable set ups. Have them make you a set of domes & a port job.

If it seems cheap its junk. You have to pay to play!
