Banny&RappyGuy
Ok, carbs are clean( boiled and spotless) , I have new Reeds, I have 125 compression and there is fuel in the carbs but it's not getting pulled through. What else can I check for? I've kicked it with choke and checked the plugs after and they're dry. If I put fuel in the head it will start and stay running?! Anyone else have this happen? This thing is driving me crazy
bluebanshee98
Did you use compressed air and cleaner for the jets? How about your petcock? Does it flow gas through it fine? Are the floats suck in the carb making gas just poor out of them? How about the gas cap vent? Is that plugged up?
Surfrjag
Choke tube on? Bowls on the right sides? float height checked?
oldskool
^^^ That. choke tube connected? Floats adjusted properly? Any air leaks? Surf jumped in front of me Edited April 25, 2014 by oldskool
Banny&RappyGuy
Did everything I can think of, used compressed air to clean the carbs and all the jets, did a leak down test, carbs are getting fuel, bowls and slides are on the right carbs, choke tube is there and good!! Like I said I don't know what else it could be? Mind boggling to me?
sstaton1983
Have you recently replaced pistons? I have seen them installed backwards and that would cause the exact same problem.
Banny&RappyGuy
No, I haven't changed the pistons. It'll run great if I get it started. It just won't start after it sits. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sheerider11
It sounds like a compression issue. A lot of blow by will just eliminate the vacuum in the cases. Have you used more then one tester to eliminate a faulty tester?
Banny&RappyGuy
ACTUALLY DID GET ANOTHER TESTER TO MAKE SURE AND THEY BOTH READ THE SAME, 125PSI. THE THING I CANT FIGURE OUT IS THAT IF I GET IT RUNNING IT'LL PULL FUEL AND RUN GREAT. IT'LL START UP AFTER THAT TOO UNTIL LIKE THE NEXT DAY OR IT GETS COLD KINDA THING!!!! joey83
Stock carbs? Check the o ring on choke. Maybe it's just not bringing the choke circuit in. I'm assuming it runs fine after it does start?? Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk

Banny&RappyGuy
It runs great once I get it started!! Also I fired it up this morning( with some help) and I took the choke tube off while it's running and it revs up quite a bit,, put the tube back on and it idles down to where it should be. Is this normal?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

wayne_smith97
The choke plunger o ring. It will unscrew with wrench from the left carb.
