boonman
feel its another outlet to be able to maybe sell the quad. I think what you were driving at there is that you know that not many people visit the for sale forum as do visit the general forum. You see, I know people get aggravated when someone posts something in one forum, like for example, you are selling your bike, and you put it in the for sale forum. and then you think, hey, alot of people will see it in the general section, so you post it there too. That is a problem. Your forsale post belongs in the for sale section. I myself moved i think 2 threads. I am a mod, but I ain't advertising it too much. it takes alot to bother me. I saved all the info that Lee sent to the mods. And what it states that he needs/wants us to do. You see, this site is probably getting to be a handful for Lee, and he needed help. I myself have been on here for about 7 hours now. On and off, but mostly on. I read pretty much everything. the only thing that pisses me off is needless swearing, and being an ass. I have seen alot of it, and I PM'ed a couple people about it. No biggie. I edited one person's post once because of it, and on others, I more or less helped them out. With quoting, and using the functions available. I know about the Bluetraxx mods, and all the other sites that are now "shitty" for a lack of better words. I hope that the HQ doesn't turn into this. I don't know where you are finding this site turning into BT Nyuk, but I really hope you don't see it that way. I don't have a grudge against anyone, and I am not going to be a hated person. Let me ask you this, when you read a post in the repairs section, and then you go to the engine section, see the same post and think, hey, didn't I just read this? And then you cruise on over to the general section and see the same post. Are you getting annoyed yet? I sure as hell do. And then after all that, you go to the questions for shee performance shops and see the same friggin post AGAIN. This is why moderators need to be there.... If everyone (the mods) don't let it "get to their head" and start playing God, than things will be fine. If everyone respects the mods, and their decisions, than things will work and hopefully be better than before. And I would hope that lee would remove a moderator from his position who misuses his or her powers. This is a necessity. Basically, you abuse, you lose. The things, or powers if you want to call them that that Lee has entrusted us with, are not alot. Just simple means of organizing the site, and the ability to remove needless threads. Like outwar and what not.... I hope that y'all understand. I think of y'all as my Banshee bros, and sis' as I have noticed some female activity recently. Once again, I hope that the HQ doesn't go downhill because of it. I will be the first to resign should it be a problem. However, I do not see it as needing to come to that. Everyone should play nice. Please don't misunderstand me here. If you are mad at me right now, and thinking WTF is he talking about, please re-hash that thought. I am not trying to be a dick. and I will NOT be a hated person. .
I totally get what your saying boon, and I'm all for that. I was just trying to set up an example of something going on right now. Anything for sale, should be in the for sale forum, as everything else should be where its supposed to be. I was mainly talking about that this site needs to strictly stick to banshees. Like if I have a problem with a 400ex and cant get an answer anywhere else.....I'd hope I'd be able to post it in the general discussion area and see if I can get a bite. Now if it was posted in repairs and mods....it should be moved....cause all that should be is about banshees. What I was trying to get at with the for sale section is that I dont want people coming on here trying to sell this, that, and the other, and if you havent been a member here for a while.....take it to another site to sell it.....or maybe it should be put in general discussion. But say, I've been a member for a while now....and I want to sell my g/f's 400ex....I should be able to put it in the for sale section. Or what would create another dimension to this site is a for sale section for nonbanshee related items. That way, if I'm looking for banshee parts....I can look in the banshee for sale section.....and if i'm trying to sell my playstation, I can put it in the nonbanshee section. Basically I just dont like when stuff disappears that someone could possibly use at some point. Someone might have some POS little kids quad laying in the back of the garage that they tried to sell 6 months back and forgot about.....and I could do a search.....and shoot them a pm seeing if they still have it. Stuff like that. I'm just into making this a community more than a one track forum. Sure....Banshee talk is the highway, but there is always little offstreets. Screamin_Demon
blah blah blah... sorry the mods have ruined your life... build a bridge and get over it already, this site's not going down the crapper from the addition of mods, but now it's becoming a site for crybabies. By the way... prime example that the mods won't let anything go to their heads... this thread hasn't been deleted yet has it? Maybe you didn't notice that. Good day

Lee
I'd like to know who deleted my posting about Brooke!?!?!?She's one of the co-founders and now you can't even say her name. What's that all about? Actually, she was an administrator. I founded the site solely in 1998. In 2002, I brought on the help of Brooke to manage things, which she did a great job of btw. Lee
However, the addition of the mods were to even out the filtering of things such as some of the nasty pics that have been posted before, cut down on flame-wars (or at least direct them to the roosting room), and to keep the site going in the right direction, so that we can all find the answers we're looking for about the banshee, as well as have a tidy place for chatting with all the HQ'ers. At one point, about 15 forum cateories-ago, I was able to read almost every post, but with 20 categories, and 1.8 million hits per month of traffic, it is more than I can take on. We'll keep the modding on the downlow as far as deleting posts & such. Just want to keep things going well. Thanks guys! -Lee
Blue Duece
i dont see a problem with the mod as long as he's not being judge and jury, i can see getting blocked from callin someone a moron while next door we have 8 pages of AOL chat over being a foxy cheerleader babe, i think all the BS should be moved to some chat room somewhere, theres about ten guys left on the HQ that know what there talking about, the rest of the posts are getting pretty moronic, when we get down to 5 i'll be a ghost as well....... mcaf29
I guess I've been here long enough to chime in in this. Even though I still got no sig (wow I'm lazy). The mods that I've seen so far are really good people on this forum, and personally I haven't seen power go to anyones head. Now here comes the big but....As a member of the military I've seen all too well the way power can go to people's heads, it will rear its head. I think the gripe here is that We come here cause its like this free flowing free thinking site on a subject we love. We are so moderated in our everyday lives its nice to come by here and think that we are not. To me its kinda like we are all sittin around my living room drinking beer, discussing Banshees (a forum allows you to do this at 3 a.m. even when the rest of the board may be sleeping). Now throw someone in there who's job it is to make sure we follow correct procedure, and it kills the atmosphere. I can't even stand to go to BT because of that. I read two posts and its all search this or wrong forum, blah blah. This sight has modded itself for years. If someone posts in the wrong forum a senior member usually says hey take it over there (doesn't actually move the post). I've seen posts in the wrong forum and a member would say here's your answer but next time use such and such a forum. I think once I see the first locked thread on this site, it will be my last. If you say its to prevent racial slurs and what not, how many instances has that happened here? Of those few times the core users of this forum came together to say that's friggin Unsat here, go away. So it now goes from a pretty much self-governing body to a police state. It kills the comradery. Boonman and Screamin are really great guys (obviously why they were picked) so they are now our "superiors". Again I make military references but its true. There's a reason why enlisted and officers are not suppose to hang out together. The establishing of the mods has given the board a sense of separation, and I think its only a matter of time...... boonman
it is the begining of the end of a great forum I do not feel good that you feel this way. it bothers me. I don't see things like that. I don't want to be labeled "superior". However, I do understand where Mcaf is coming from. "higher ups" shouldn't fraternize with the lower ranked people. There is very good reason for this. If you are hangin' out with the boss, and then when it comes time to lay the smack down at work, you take it on a personal level when you have a personal contact with the person outside of the workplace. (or military). Now, in here, on this forum, I hope that this is not the case. I do not feel "superior", or whatever in any sense. I will NOT. I refuse to let it happen. I Love the HQ. I love banshees. It will stay that way. Now, I can't speak for the other mods here, because I do not know what is going through their heads. I don't know how they are reacting to being selected as a mod. I know that speaking for myself here, I WILL NOT do any of the things that the "other people" do on the other shitty sites. I go to Bluetraxx about once every other month when I remember.... I have met a couple people from that site, that live in my area, and they were great people. We rode, it was fun. I have met a couple from this site too, from Michigan. Had a blast. We rode, drank, partied and had a helluva time. I would like to keep up the pace here. I would like to meet every person I can. I think 99.5% of the people on here are great. And I sincerely hope that once this hurdle is crossed that everyone will get along again. And not feel like they are being watched. And your concern Mcaf about posting non banshee things, you can rest assured that it will not be me deleting anything. I know plenty of people, and ride with plenty of people that have EX's and many different bikes. You see, that is the great thing about the HQ. you can come here and do whatever. Noone got mad at Lee for doing anything mod wise. In fact they asked him to alot of times. And now, with the addition of mods, you don't have to go to lee. there is the little report button, which my email box tells me works like it is supposed to. I had a bazillion reports about one thread, which has already been deleted. Now, if mods weren't here, that would not be possible. lee can't be here everyday. To tell you the truth, I was not enthused by the fact that my name was listed on the forum home page for the forums which i am a mod in. I would like to be more in the background. I don't like being labeled, "superior" because I do not feel that I am. I just thought i could help out once in awhile. Like when someone posts and they just can't get a pic to go in right, I could jump in their post, fix whatever errors they had going on, and then they could go back in, hit their edit button, and see how it was done. I see it hapen all the time on another site I visit frequently, which is ramchargercentral.com. They have a great thing going on over there. They have mods, and the site doesn't go downhill. Sometmes they move threads to the proper place, sometimes they get left alone if they aren't too bad. Noone is superior, and noone feels that way. They have even removed a couple mods who let it go to their head. And i hope that Lee would do the same. I will never have that problem, because I will not let it get to that point. there is no need. I love spending time here when I can, and I hope that people don't get crazy thoughts in their head and start to dislike me. If it gets to that point, I won't be a mod any longer. It is not worth the friendships and comradery we have strived so hard to achieve here. We will just have to see how this all plays out. Wheatchex
I'm chiming in here, while I usually don't add much to these discussions here is my 2 cents: Can't we all get along? I guess I don't see all that much in the way of moderation going on and from what I've read the moderators are now and have in the past been pretty much hands off. While there are some threads I don't like, or are posted in multiuple places, I just ignore them and don't waste my time worrying about them. Life's too short to get worked up about this. I think Lee has done a great job with this site, allowing the free flow of information and maintaining it to a higher standard than most forums.
