Squish clearance

Recommended Posts

kind of really old SCP and redline would steer you away from custom domes especially seeing you where asking about removing the base gasket....

Really cant see why they would tell you to just go and remove the base gasket over good domes.

"Kind of really old " was last week. I didn't ask them about removing the base gasket.....cam suggested that to me. I got the idea then asked you guys...Matt told me to run the mod quad domes because, out of the box the dome profile would be what I wanted for my motor. I took his advise and when I measured my squish about an hour ago it was way too loose.

I'd probably call Shearer and see if he intended on you to have that loose of a squish (I doubt it) when he suggested those domes.

If not, why did he suggest them?

I agree. He assumed it was built right in the first place. I'm calling him tomorrow. Damn Craigslist specials ..

I thought you bought it from Shearer? Didn't you say he beat everyone else price?

. The whole bike came from CraigsList. The new parts came from Matt. The domes I actually picked up from Sand Trax, but at Matt's advice, Sand Trax had them in stock.

I guess he just didn't want to cut you some domes to go with the cub he sold you. Hence why I said he must have "blew you off" when it came to the domes. Oh well.

steaight sealent/silicone is just fine. and lower port timings is a good thing in most cases. Also I thought cubs call for .012

I think on CP's sight it was a .015 if I remember right. But even at .012 that would give me .062.. I'm gonna check my port timing tomorrow , maybe call shear .idk I think it will be ok sealed no gasket.

I never said he sold me the cub.. Sorry for the confusion. The little cub that could.. Started out a supposedly 421 cub I bought off CL that turned into a 350 cub once I tore into it .

Just got new domes from SCP. He sent me mod quads and said the dome profile was the best out of the box for my pistons.

yep, I bought all my stuff from him.

. He beat everyone I quoted in price, with fast delivery.

Yea....you definitely have me confused.

Hope you get it sorted .
