10milmike
Hey Guys. I am running VP 110 with 162 mains at 1600 feet above sea level. I want to switch to VP Q16. It is a oxide gas. I know you have to go bigger on the main. But how big? Has anyone ever run Q16 on here? Sent from my Samsung Galaxy note

10milmike
Think I am going to go to a 170 and see what the plugs look like. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy note
mailman
I ended up 2 sizes richer from 110 to Q16. It did make more power on the dyno but the motor didn't seem as stable/happy as it was on the vp110
sleeper06
Use a power jet
trickedcarbine
Good luck... I chased issues with Q16 all last summer. A few builders couldn't even help me really, I ended up with a VP Tech who informed me I'd need 200+ lbs of compression to even burn the fuel properly. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to get the motor to tune right. My plugs were coloring like I've never seen. I went back to a fuel that 160-180 lbs comp. could support and the plugs colored good. I have a thread somewhere on here about it. I'd suggest not to run it. ^ This exactley! You may wanna pass on the Q16 and try the VP113. It is oxygenated with out too much octane. I guess you can get a bit more crazy with the timing to burn the q16 but it really needs to be compressed to burn to it's potential. Not just flamed early. Try the 113. SlowerThanYou
We have ran a butt load of Q16 & it works very well when you get it right. It's the quickest & fastest fuel we have ran to date. We found on our combo that 2 or 3 jet sizes doesn't cut it. Power Jet didn't work with it. We ran it with only 160 lbs. of cranking compression. This is what we observed in our testing!
