10milmike nice dyno numbers.!!! one thing I always like about shearer motors the curve always has a nice straight line to it I bet they are a blast to ride.. I wish I would of had him do my serval

windy you can down shift that is not a problem but its a pain in the ass shifting up and down going around trees over rocks etc.. the cheetah is a good motor for what we do the or the serval they are just more forgiving for on and off the gas IMO.. I have rode a bunch of cubs and for me none of them have been a motor I would like and only one of them I felt good enough to even try a hill which was a 10mil cub..

other people have made cubs work for what we do but they are always clutching the bike even in second gear on some of the hills that is not for me. you just don't need to ride the cheetah of serval as aggressive to get the same outcome ..

I know cc per cc the cub will give you more hp than the cheetah or serval but I would never want a cub or and other cylinder that is going to be pipey to ride  my favorite motor was my 465 serval after I played with it for a while and found the dome ,reeds carbs etc. that suited what I was doing with the quad

all i'll say is  pv's will enable a much higher port number than any fixed port..  the inside port layout of a cub is identical to the cheeta..  same number of ports, same basic layout, same basic intake, boost port size.  biggest difference is in the stud layout in the head ( cub is weaker) and the smaller intake reed size.  which most any post on larger cc cubs the smaller size is said to be holding them back...    from what i see  the cheetah was so far ahead of its game at the time  noone knew how to set it up worth a shit in the early days..  the cubs came out and had MASSIVE head, dome failure's untill the dome shape was figured out  whats funny is using blair's figures for basic dome squish values and bore to squish band ratio's is what fixed the cub and what makes my cheeta's run well ( among lots of other things..) ..  not sure why anyone was running 35 to 40 tho squish band and 11-14mm bands on them anyways???  the cheeta's are just "old news"  thats all. if anyone took a cheeta and actually spent as much time with them as the do cubs  the results would be phenomenal..  i mean really  thats one hell of a curve 10millmike..
