brake caliper problem

Recommended Posts

I was changing the rear brake pads on my banshee and it was all going well until i went to put the caliper back on. The piece of the caliper which holds it to the quad the piece you bolt on through is sticking out to much and will not allow the brake pads back far enough for them to go down over the rotor.

Is there a way of moving this back ?

There is an allen bolt thingy,(Not sure proper name) but anyway it runs through rear caliper and bolts to mounting bracket. That must slide freely back and forth. Imo, your better off taking the whole thing apart and rebuild it. Chances are your gonna rip the rubbers trying to free it up if its really seized.

the caliper slides are seized... The caliper needs to be able to float on the pins... Your best bet is to buy the caliper rebuild kit, and rebuild it...
