I have a 2000 banshee fmf fatty pipe and two unifilters with no air box. Stock carbs. It smokes when I first start it and really doesn't get any better as it warms up. It runs fine with no bogging. Tips of both plugs are black. I just bought it so I don't know what jetting is in it now. I just need to know what jetting would be good. About 1000 ft above sea level, around 60-90 deg temps. I rode it the other day and the smoking slowed to almost nothing after a while. I'm new to two strokes. Is this something I can fix with the air screws or will I have to reject? Thanks

It could be a little low on compression if it warms up and doesnt smoke when warm. If it runs good and you are happy with performance dont worry about it. Otherwise tell us at what throttke position it smokes alot. If its in the midrange lean out the needles a clip or two. That will help.

2s are often called 2smokers for a reason. The type of oil and mix ratio affects this. What are you running? Does it smoke more out of right than left? If so, you have a bad seal and are burning trans oil.

Really should do a comp test and leakdown test seeing as the shee is new to you, and you are new to 2s. Highly suggest getting a Clymers Repair Manual, will cover 99.9% of anything needed.

Might be best to clean the carbs, set float levels, record what jets are in. Do them one at a time as they have simular but different parts.

Might as well post the jetting and all known mods to your bike too.
