2005shee Posted March 7, 2014 Report Share Posted March 7, 2014 ok im looking at suspension set ups to get ive got a little bit of saving to do still but I would like to know how much ill need. I live in southeast ky, all I ride is wooded trails kinda fast but not extremely hard on my quad, I ride all year round so temps will range from 20-100. I was looking at a set they had of elka stage 1s and full flight st + a arms for 850 but only front shocks, same full flights with elkas stage 2s for 1150 just front, a set of stage 3 elkas with back included for around 1300 plus 350 for a arms, and fox float fronts only for 695 and id get +2 a arms for around 350. question is are the elka 2s or 3s worth the extra price? how would the foxs compare in my conditions? is there some other brand I should be looking at? if I get a set without the back what should I do, leave it stock, match it or is there a certain back shock that would be better? like I said before wooded trails is where I ride im also planning on getting an anti vibe steering stem and fast flexx bars and a steering stabilizer, I want a smooth ride I don't do big jumps at all, but theres a lot of drops and whoops that I have to ride here in the mountains. also would long travel make much of a difference? I haven't actually ridden with them so i cant give you an honest answer. They look great tho! and appear to be a quality product.,we'll see. You wanna get the ones you can adjust compression on at the least, otherwise just go with a WORKS shock. Rear - You can stick with the factory shock or get the factory rear re-valved and freshened up and it will be fine. If you have the cash, Getting the Rear ELKA will be nice, but it's a luxury you might not need for your riding. +2+1 A-Arms with ELKAS FTMFW! DO IT!!! I went from stockers to works triple rates. I loved it. I blew the shocks up, still 10000x better then stock. 2005shee Posted March 7, 2014 Author Report Share Posted March 7, 2014 well im pretty sure im going with the stage 3 set and even if I don't have the cash theres a set on ebay for 1300 and they are brand new and you still get the custom set up and all. an I was planning on getting either the full flight +2/+1 or the alba +2/+1 long travel a arms and ill probably go with the lt considering there only 398 so like $50 more. all together should be less then 1700. would this be a setup you guys would recommend? and you guys wouldn't recommend the flexx bars for the price? theres a lonestar +1 anti vibe steering stem and fast flexx bar combo for 600. and what brand steering stabilizer works good with the shees? Allows for more adjustment when it come to chains and gearing choices. TONS lighter! I love the idea of the steering stabilizer. I run them on everything. A stick style will work out fine for you. (They are all basically the same…..Moose has a low price) Instead of Fast Flex bars…..Go with a +1 or +2 anti-vibe stem (I like the +2 but I'm 6' tall) Then look at the Precision Handlebar Suspension. It's cheaper than flex bars and works WAY better. You don't see a lot of Banshee guys run them…..But I bought an 09' YFZ450R and it had them on it. Can't believe how much of a difference it makes on the abuse your wrists/body gets from the bars.
